A two-run double from Elijah Dukes started Wharton’s night as the Wildcats pounded out 15 hits to pick up a key district win. Senior Frank Micallef (3-for-4) hit a three-run double to push the game well out of reach, while David Limbach was 3-for-4 scoring three, and Zach Ehrhard drove in a pair. Alonso’s offense came thanks to a pair of home runs off the bat of senior Zen Hiatt, who extended his 18-game hitting streak with a solo homer in the third and a two-run shot in the sixth (see below).

Freedom’s Aidan Kraf singled in a run, and Gabriel Pollard cleared the bases with a double in the sixth inning as the Patriots defeated Chamberlain. Kerry Wise pitched six innings, striking out five and allowing two runs (one earned) for Freedom, and Joey Wey earned the save.
