Senior Javier James had an RBI single and double in the win, Carson Moore picked up his seventh victory on the mound, striking out five in four shutout innings, and Joseph Fritz doubled in a run in the win. An RBI single by Aidan Kraf, and a two run single by Joey Wey sparked a five-run sixth for Freedom, but the Dragons held off the rally attempt.

Berkeley Prep weathered a four-run second from Steinbrenner to take a one-run victory as three-straight RBI singles from Anthony Castillo, Andrew DiMisa and Johnathan Bruno gave the Buccaneers the lead in the fourth inning. Owen McElfatrick earned his second win of the season with 5 1/3 innings of relief, allowing one run on two hits and striking out six. The Warriors four-run second was sparked by a two-run double by Jake Vildostegui and an RBI single by Eliecer Martinez, and Steinbrenner added a run in the fourth on a James Strom (two RBI) single.

Spoto freshman Cullen Cairns pitched a complete-game, three-hitter as the Spartans topped Armwood at home on Wednesday. Cairns walked one and struck out three, needing just 82 pitches to get the job done. The Spartans got on the board in the fourth on an Anthony Walker RBI groundout, and the junior came through again the next inning, doubling in the eventual game-winner, while Sean Weir was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Armwood’s sixth-inning run came as Tim Mendizibal singled to open the frame and scored on a Justin Corns RBI sac fly, and Sam Simmons struck out five, allowing one run across 3 1/3 innings pitched.

Billy Eich doubled, homered and drove in four, and Quentin Meadows also doubled and homered, scoring three times as Wharton defeated TBT. Senior Zach Ehrhard was 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored for the Wildcats, and Ryan Fry earned the win, before Jackson Perkins and Michael Rivera chipped in shutout innings of relief. For the Titans, Jonathan Figueroa tripled in two runs.

Carrollwood Day 1 – nine innings

An RBI double by Jack Slater, a run-scoring single from Brady Burgess and a two-run double from Salvy Urso finally pushed Hillsborough past Carrollwood Day in the ninth inning. Freshman Cameron Mallo provided three shutout innings of relief to earn the win with four strikeouts, after six strong innings by Bransen Angel (one run, five hits, seven K’s). Burgess was 3-for-5 in the win and Tanner Jones had two hits and an RBI. Aden Hendels had a first-inning RBI double for Carrollwood Day, and Brennan Leonhardt allowed just one run across six innings in a no-decision.

MJ Bundick singled for Tampa Catholic’s lone hit, and Danny Lazaro struck out five in the loss.

Jesuit fell on the road to MaxPreps ranked Top 5 team IMG on the road on Wednesday as the Ascenders scored three in the second inning on a Evan Applewick single and a two-run double by Drake Varnado. The Tigers got an RBI single by Bradke Lohry and Tyler Corish doubled and scored on a wild pitch, but Jesuit was held to just three hits by junior and Ole Miss commit Jackson Ferris, who earned the win and struck out seven. Tigers senior Alden Segui struck out nine, but was tagged with the loss allowing three runs (one earned) in four innings of work.
