Robinson loaded the bases in the first inning on singles from Tucker Wehrman and Joe Whitaker, and Cameron Duss was hit by a pitch, before a fly ball error cleared the bases giving the Knights all the runs needed to advance to the 4A-7 district final at Dunedin on Thursday. Knights senior Tyler Kirkner held the Wildcats to one run on three hits in a complete-game win. Wesley Chapel scored one run in the first inning when Sean Esquinaldo doubled and came around to score on a Zach Showalter single.

Freshman Logan Mazur struck out nine, limiting Brooks DeBartolo to five hits to earn his second win, and book Carrollwood Day a spot in the district semifinals against top seed Tampa Prep (at Tampa Catholic, Tuesday at 4 p.m.). Mazur also got things going on offense in the third inning with a single, Brennan Leonhardt (2-for-3) drove in the games first run. Christian Clark hit a solo home run, and Nick Bonollo (two RBI), Allen Gilleard (run) and Nick Riedel (RBI) each had triples for the Patriots. Jimmy Curtis was 2-for-3 for the Phoenix.

Joseph Fritz singled in a run to break a tie in the third and Jefferson added a run in the fifth and sixth innings to win its quarterfinal win against Middleton and book a spot in the semifinal against Jesuit Tuesday night. Alejandro Aguilar and Alejandro Montada both had triples and RBI in the win. Anthony Linares struck out five, while allowing one unearned run, and Cam Copple picked up the save with two no-hit innings of relief.

A sacrifice fly from Sal Urso broke a tie and put Hillsborough on the path to a district quarterfinal win. Urso added a solo homer, an RBI walk and a stolen base in the win, driving in four runs, while Ty Jones had a pair of RBI for the Terriers. Titus Woods-Ayers drove in the lone run for the Yellow Jackets. Sophomore JJ Shipherd struck out 11 in 4 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win for Hillsborough. The Terriers will face Freedom at 4 p.m. from Jesuit on Tuesday.

Junior Dominic Lyons turned in a complete-game effort, striking out five as King advanced to the district semifinal at Braden River on Tuesday. Lions senior Bennett Weinard was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored while Vashawn Dukes and and Jayden Hill were both 2-for-4 with an RBI apiece. Spoto junior Mikey Britton was 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Rory Beauford was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Freshman Isaiah Welch spun a five-inning, one-hit shutout striking out 10 as Sumner won it’s district quarterfinal against Southeast 10-0 via mercy-rule. Isaac Martinez doubled in the deciding run in the first inning, Dereck Burgos was 2-fr-2 with a double, triple and drove in three for the Stingrays.

Senior Ryan Fry struck out 10 in five hitless innings to earn the win as Wharton defeated Sunlake on Monday. Sophomore Jake Turer collected two doubles driving in three runs Quentin Meadows drove in a pair, and seniors Elijah Dukes and Carson Mohler both had two hits, including a double each.

Austin Leever cashed in a bases-loaded situation with an RBI groundball to push Armwood to a one-run win against East Bay, rewarding sophomore Matthew Hall for a complete-game effort, finishing with six strikeouts. Jacob Johns was 1-for-4, with two RBI and KJ Leshko was 2-for-4 for the Hawks. East Bay’s Alex Ordinola was 2-for-2 with a walk and RBI, Anthony Williams had an RBI double and Kayla Wright had a double and scored a run.

Senior Aidan Dorrell struck out seven in 4 2/3 innings pitched, while Cole Gonzalez and Joey Daniels provided scoreless relief.
