Berkeley Prep 11, Tampa Prep 9

Berkeley Prep came out ahead in a back-and-forth battle with Tampa Prep, as Rivers Kurland tied the game with a two-run double in the sixth, and the Bucs took the lead on a balk and wild pitch adding two more runs. Wyatt Ewanowski was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, James Hankerson had two hits, a double and RBI, and Julius Pfau was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI. Gus Barrido earned the win with three strikeouts in his 1 2/3 innings of relief. Tampa Prep’s offense was highlighted by LaPlace Sallis who went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, Ignacio Gonzalez scored three and drove in a pair, and Will Jennewein drove in three.

Michael Wormack‘s RBI single lined to center broke a tie and gave Chamberlain and himself a ninth-inning win at Hillsborough. Wormack struck out six, and allowed just one earned run in his complete-game effort. Alexander Soto  was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Joshua Torres drove in a run for the Storm. Curtis Roberts was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Terriers, and Nelson Arbolaez drove in a run. JJ Shipherd (5ip, three hits, six K’s) and Ryan Arroyo (4ip, three K’s) worked on the mound, and all four runs were unearned.

The Chargers got out to an early lead when Akhil Nimmala drove in a run in the first inning, Reuben Vasquez singled in a pair, and Arjun Nimmala homered as Crest built a big enough lead on Wharton. Brayden DiCerb earned his second win with four strikeouts and four runs allowed. Drew Cobb (two hits, run) and Dylan Klinger (run) each doubled, and David Ascano and Jeremiah Brown each drove in a run.

Sumner’s Gavin Albritton pitched four no-hit innings of relief with five strikeouts as the Stingrays defeated Spoto. Isaac Martinez (run) and Brenden Rodriguez (RBI) each had three hits in the win. Cullen Cairns struck out a pair in three shutout innings for the Spartans, he also drove in a run.

Dylan LaPointe homered for the fourth time to start things off for Durant in a road visit to Bloomingdale, but the Bulls would answer with a home run from Alex Vazquez. The Cougars took the lead for good in the fifth on an RBI ground out by Nick April-Gath and a RBI single into left by Noah Morales. Bloomingdale tried a rally in the seventh scoring on a Johnny De La Rosa sac fly, but Blaine Rowland struck out the final hitter of the game.
