A two-out rally in the fifth started with a Reuben Vasquez (2-for-3, double, two runs) single and a walk to put runners aboard for senior Nico Cappucci, who blasted his sixth home run of the year to left-center to give the Chargers the lead for good and lift Crest to a district title. Vasquez lead off the home-first with a double and scored a run on a Cappucci sac fly, but Sumner senior Winston Pennant tied the game with a solo homer (his fifth of the year) to left-center in the third to tie the game. Pennant was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Strawberry Crest’s Saxon Shah held the Stingrays to one run over 3 1/3 innings, with three strikeouts, before turning the ball over to Bubba Blount who pitched the final 3 2/3, struck out a pair and allowed a run in the seventh on a Diankel Berrios sac fly, while picking up his fifth win of the season.

Bloomingdale stretched out a big enough lead to withstand a six-run fifth inning from Horizon as the Bulls won a second-straight district title. Evan Plusquellic (2-for-3, 3 runs) got the Bulls on the board with the first two of his three RBI in the win with a double in the home-first; Payton Jennings kept things going with an RBI single – the first of a 4-for-4 night, with a double, triple and two RBI. Vaughn Osting hit a solo homer and had an RBI sac fly, and cruised on the mound through four innings before giving up six runs (five earned) on five hits in the fifth. Izzy Perez came on for the final two innings, striking out a pair with no hits allowed to earn the save, while also going 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI.

McKeel put together a five-run fourth – led by a two-run double from Carter Rouse (3-for-4, 5 RBI), an RBI single by Logan Gill (3-for-4, 3 runs) and a two run double by Jorge Cordova (2-for-4) – to pull away from Jefferson and claim a second-straight district title. Cordova pitched six-plus innings, struck out five, and allowed two earned runs on three hits and five walks. Kaiden Johnson singled in a pair in the seventh inning for the Dragons; and Manny Baez went 2-for-3 with a runs scored.
