Buford (Ga.) 7
(1) Jesuit 4 – nine innings

Three errors spotted Buford five unearned runs, as Jesuit lost its first game of the season in a nine-inning battle between two MaxPreps-ranked Top 10 national teams. The game from LaGrange, Ga featured the Tigers taking on top prep pitching prospect Dylan Lesko (a Vanderbilt commit), who held Jesuit it one hit and struck out nine in four scoreless innings. On the other side Jamie Arnold struck out 12, followed by 3-plus innings of relief from Brooks Chamberlin, who finished with eight strikeouts. Unfortunately for the Tigers three errors proved too many extra chances to afford the Wolves, who hit three home runs in the win. Jack Martinez homered for Jesuit, and Clay Thompson doubled and drove in a pair.
