Steinbrenner put up a big sixth inning behind five hits to claim a big win against our preseason No. 1 team Plant, with Bryce Andrews lining a single to the left side to score the deciding run. Cayden Hessemyer tripled and scored twice in a three-hit night for the Warriors, and junior Jorge Romero was 2-for-3 with two RBI and also earned the win on the mound with three innings of relief. Cash Strayer drove in two, as did Jack Meade on a two-run homer for the Panthers.

Calvary Christian’s Hunter Dietz earned his first win of the year, allowing just one hit and striking out seven, before Landen Maroudis struck out three in a two-inning save. The Crusaders battled one of the top teams in the state, taking an early lead on a two-run homer from freshman Cole Bitman in the second. Senior James Long singled in a pair to break a tie in the third inning as the Warriors rallied for a win.

Down four, Berkeley Prep rallied with a seven-run sixth to defeat Santa Fe Catholic at home. Augustin Barrido singled in a run in the Bucs big inning, and scored the deciding run on a wild pitch before Wyatt Ewanowski put a ball in play and a costly Hawks error let two more runs across. The rally earned Ewanowski the win on the mound, and eighth grader Jett Walters struck out a pair in to earn a save.
