Berkeley Prep 10, Gainesville 0 (5)
Berkeley Prep sophomore Rivers Kurland tossed a five-inning perfect game as the Bucs pounded out 11 hits to end things early at Gainesville. Senior James Hankerson doubled in the deciding run in the first innings, scoring the courtesy runner Nolan Metcalf, who had entered for the catcher Troy Reader after a double. Reader added a solo home run in the win, Jett Walters was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBI, and Julius Pfau went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. But the day belonged to Kurland, who struck out nine, needing just 56 pitches to finish off the game unblemished.

Sumner 4, Seffner Christian 2
A trio of Seffner Christian errors and a Zach Hutchinson RBI single in the first spotted Sumner a four-run lead and just enough to claim a Saladino opening win over the Crusaders. Addy Scott had a hit and an RBI walk for the Crusaders, but Seffner Christian wasn’t able to bring it any closer off of Sumner pitchers Landon Wilder (Win, 5ip, 11 strikeouts) and Rhyan Yetman (Sv, 2ip, 3 K’s).
