Jefferson 8Brandon 0

Jefferson senior Alejandro Aguilar tossed a no-hitter at Brandon on Monday night, finishing with 13 strikeouts in his 98-pitch complete game.

“That was something special – something I hadn’t been able to do in my career and I’m happy I got it,” Aguilar said. “But that wasn’t just on me, the guys made plays for me all night. A no-hitter is a team thing, so I’m happy we all got to get that done.”

The Dragons took a two-run lead in the first on an error and an RBI single by Joseph Fritz (2-for-3, run) and added a six-run sixth to support the senior on the mound. Cameron Mallo was 2-for-2 with an RBI, JaMarques Benton drove in a pair, and Jayden Vazquez had an RBI and two runs in the win.
