Hillsborough kept its offensive torrent going as the
Terriers pounded out 12 hits to win it’s 15th straight and claim a
district title defeating King. Senior and Ole Miss signee Tim Elko had RBI
singles in the first and third innings to get the Terriers started, before a
two-run Antonio Jenkins single to right pushed the game out of reach for the
Lions. Senior Jarrod Cande had a pair of doubles and scored three times,
Jenkins and Terrence Doston each drove in two runs, and Ryan Romano and Quintin Graham each had two
hits and an RBI in the win. For King, Dehreon Pressley was 3-for-4, with a
double and an RBI.

Bishop McLaughlin 2,
Cambridge Christian 1 (8 innings)

 

In a meeting of the top-two seeds, Cambridge Christian
battled but just couldn’t hold off a tough Bishop McLaughlin squad. BMC got a
walk-off hit from Adam Berry to score the deciding run in Winter Haven, Friday
night. Jacob Krueger put the Lancers in good position working 5 2/3 of
scoreless baseball on the mound, posting his longest outing of the season.
Bishop McLaughlin finally scratched out an unearned run. Caleb Faris had a pair
of hits and the RBI for Cambridge Christian. Bishop McLaughlin got a great
start from Hunter Gillespie, allowing only one unearned run through six
innings, Manny Sado worked the final two innings and earned the win in relief
for the Hurricanes.
