Plant junior righty Gage Ricker tossed a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Panthers to a mercy-rule win over Lennard and improve his team to 2-0 in pool-play standings.

“Gage’s a strike thrower and has a few pitches to work with,” Plant coach Dennis Braun said. “He’s definitely gonna get a few more chances after an outing like that.”

Supporting their starter, the Panthers hitters went to work as Connor Scott tripled to right to score Mike Haydak in the first inning. Matthew Coker was 2-for-3 in the win scoring twice, while Chase Sanguinetti and Carson Richards each drove in a pair.

Strawberry Crest Ben Pues went 2-for-3, including a two run single to salt the Chargers win away against East Bay, Tuesday morning. Damien Torres had a pair of hits and an RBI for in the win. For East Bay, John Patterson picked up an RBI with a single to through the middle in the fourth.
