Jefferson 6, King 2

King picked up a first-inning run on an error and added a solo home run by Addison Barger in the fifth, but couldn’t hold off Jefferson who tied the game in the fifth as Miguel Denson doubled in a run, followed by an RBI single by AJ Mathis. The Dragons took control in the sixth as Denson capped a four-run inning with his second RBI hit of the game. Senior Charlie Welch doubled in a run in the sixth as well. Junior Mike Dominguez earned the win on the mound, striking out nine and allowing just two runs (one earned) on three hits.

Wharton 7, Alonso 2

Wharton pitchers Duncan Pastore and Brian Baughman combined to hold Alonso to just two runs in a combined win on Saturday. Pastore also came through at the plate going 3-for-3 ate the plate, scoring twice, with a pair of doubles and an RBI single in the win. Zach Ehrhard had a pair of singles in the game and Baughman earned the win in relief working the final four innings and allowing one unearned run on just one hit, while striking out seven.

Sickles 15, Middleton 0 (four innings)

Gryphons senior Leandro Alvarez (two doubles, two RBI), junior Rolando Linares (three RBI) and sophomore Derek Shaw (double, two RBI) each had a pair of hits as Sickles defeated Middleton by mercy-rule. Senior Michael Lojacono worked four shutout innings allowing just one Middleton hit and striking out eight.

Javy Hernandez was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and Jorge Carrero homered as the Falcons stayed hot with a 5-3 win over Robinson. Franklyn Hernandez struck out six, allowing three unearned runs to earn the win, while Julio Acosta picked up the save. For Robinson Paul Jennewein had an RBI single in the Knight’s 3-run sixth inning.

Riverview 12, Hillsborough 2 (five innings)

Riverview junior Dillon Besnier walked things off with a three-run home run as the Sharks had a big offensive day in a home win. MacAllister Jorgensen was 2-for-3 with a triple, Adam Hunt was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, and Cameron Vigh had a double and three RBI in the win. Reagan Jorgensen got the win on the mound working three innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.
