Senior Nick Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI, Gabe Montagna hit a home run in the win, and Joseph Villalta had three hits and an RBI in the win.

Hillsborough 8, Chamberlain 2 (quarterfinal game)
Terriers sophomore Trevor Jones earned the win on the mound, going the distance as Hillsborough advances to Wednesday’s district semifinal with a win over Chamberlain. Junior Terence Doston went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI in the win, while senior Elijah West collected a pair of hits and an RBI, and freshman Kyle Bincarousky scored two and had an RBI. The Terriers also turned a triple play when first baseman Nate Gustafson caught a popped up bunt, rushed back to the bag for a second out and threw across the diamond for the third out. For Chamberlain, Greg Santana (RBI) and David Cornelio had doubles and DJ Johnson had a triple.

Gaither 10, King 2 (semifinal)
Orlando Arevalo and Julian Lopez got Gaither going offensively in the first each driving in a run with singles and the Cowboys kept applying pressure to win its district semifinal game against King. Derek Crum provided the eventual deciding run with an RBI double in the fourth, and a bases clearing triple in the fifth. Senior Danny Gutcher was 3-for-4 scoring three times in the win and Arevalo drove in four for the Cowboys. Javier Deyan tossed six innings to earn the win with six strikeouts and allowing two unearned runs. King senior Addison Barger had a pair of hits and scored a run for the Lions and Keyon Floyd had an RBI sac fly.

Jesuit sophomore Alex Bryant was outstanding tossing a no-hitter as the Tigers defeated Spoto in district semifinal play. Bryant struck out six and improved to 3-1 on the season.
“Alex was phenomenal today,” Jesuit coach Miguel Menendez said. “He pounded the strike zone and got ahead all day long.To throw only 65 pitches for a seven-inning complete game is outstanding.”
Jesuit’s offense did all its work in support in the first inning scoring nine runs, led by seniors Joel Brewer’s two run single and McGuire Weaver’s RBI single.

Marc DeGusipe’s two run triple and Jake Coleman’s RBI single provided the heroics in the top of the ninth as the Dragons won an extra-inning battle with Robinson and setup a district final showdown with Jesuit on Thursday. Senior Robby Martin had three hits, a triple and scored twice, while also earning the win on the mound. For Robinson, Jack Castro’s two-run double forced extra innings, and Adam Hadermota had an RBI single to tie the game again in the bottom of the eighth. Paul Jennewein was 2-for-2 with a run scored for the Knights.
