Alonso 4, Gaither 3 – nine innings

Sophomore Renzo Gonzalez smashed a solo home run to right field to walk-off the win for the Ravens in extra innings. Gonzalez, who finished 3-for-4, also adding a double and a pair of runs scored, started the game on the mound for Alonso before a committee of seven Ravens pitchers toed the rubber in the game. Anthony Bayyat came on in a tough spot in the top of the ninth with the bases loaded and one out and struck out a pair setting up his offense to get him a win on the mound. For Gaither K’Wality Williams had a two run single in the seventh to push the game to extra innings.

Junior Zan Rose tossed five innings, striking out five and allowing a pair of runs to pick up his second win of the season. King jumped out big on Chamberlain in the first behind an RBI double by Jacob Cordell, a two-run triple from Will Marquart, an RBI triple from John Ramos and run-scoring singles by Zarrian Brinson (who also doubled) and Micah Lindsey.

Wharton jumped out early and held off a Plant comeback try to win a non-district game at home. Senior Brian Baughman was 3-for-4 with an RBI single, and two doubles, while Grady Maguire had a pair of RBI in the win and Steven Hotinski had a pair of hits and an RBI. Sophomore Jackson Perkins earned the win on the mound and Carson Caso picked up the save. For Plant, senior Gabe Rincones hit a two run homer in the fourth and Carson Richards had an RBI double.

Jesuit junior Bennett Lee announced on Twitter today that he has verbally committed to Tulane, then he punctuated his big day with a trio of triples an RBI and two runs scored as the Tigers defeated Blake. Joe Casale chipped a two-hit night with his first home run of the season, Jimmy Clifford was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, and Johnathan Shoop tripled scored one and drove a run in. AJ Karabenick picked up his second win of the season on the mound working two innings of no-hit baseball, while Tripp Russo and Domenic Castellano kept the Yellow Jackets off the board in relief.

Three Jefferson pitchers combined for a perfect-game with senior Mike Dominguez making the start working four innings and striking out seven, joined by Miguel Denson (2 ip, four K) and Jaiden Duarte. The sophomore, Duarte also was key at the plate, with a 2-for-2 night, four RBI, a triple, tree runs scored and three walks.

Buccaneers senior Jakob Hines’ 3-run homer in the first gave his team all it would need to pick up a district win over Tampa Prep, but Hines bookended his night with another 3-run homer in the final inning. Andrew DiMisa had a double, triple and two RBI, while Cade Kurland (double) and Jonathan Bruno (two hits) scored two runs each. Ian Brown stuck out 10 in six innings on the mound, earning his fourth win of the year. Charlie Vari had a solo home run for the Terrapins in the game.
