Jesuit 2,
Jefferson 0
Jesuit remained undefeated in district play as a pair of aces battled on the mound for both teams. Jesuit’s Camden Minacci struck out eight in a complete-game effort, allowing just four hits and walking three, to out-duel Dragons senior Mike Dominguez, who was charged with a pair of unearned runs and struck out seven in 4 2/3 innings. Jesuit took advantage of an error in the fifth and Henry Politz made the mistake hurt with a two-run single that provided the offense his team would need. The Tigers got a double from Ethan Valdez, who signed his commitment today with Wagner College, in the win. For Jefferson, Yadiel Perez had a double and Mario Lopez was 2-for-3 at the plate.
Congratulations to @EthanValdez66 and his classmates on the signing ceremony this morning. #tigers pic.twitter.com/FRs1z6lkRd— Bob Valdez (@ny12713) April 17, 2019

Tampa Prep 9,
Academy at the Lakes 3
The Wildcats scored three runs in the second, but from there it was all Tampa Prep as the Terrapins took control in the third with back-to-back home runs from Lucas Harmon (two-run) and Charlie Vari, and sealed things up in the fourth as walks proved costly for Academy at the Lakes and Will McLaren (3-for-3, double) added a two-run single to the damage. Colby Welch worked four, no-hit innings of relief, striking out nine to earn the win on the mound; Harmon also had a double and Alex Varner had two doubles and scored twice for Tampa Prep.

Leto 6,
King 0
Leto senior Christian Suarez allowed just two hits in a complete-game shutout over King on Wednesday. Suarez, a Stetson signee, struck out nine and hit a pair of batters, but issued no walks. Bryan Perez’s RBI ground out and Brayan Cruz’s RBI single in the first got King all it would need, but RJ Gutierrez would add some insurance with an RBI single and a run-scoring sac fly in the win.
