Plant City 8,

Hillsborough 2

Congrats to Plant City’s Mike Fryrear on his 100th victory as a head coach!

A five-run fifth inning led by a Tyler Dowdy RBI single and a Hunter Emerine RBI sac fly pushed Plant City to the win over Hillsborough on Tuesday. Dowdy earned the win on the mound working three perfect innings of relief, striking out three. The win was a milestone for both the team and its head coach Mike Fryrear – the 19th win of the season is the most for the program since the current Plant City High opened and the team changed its team name to the Raiders, while the win also marked the 100th career victory for Fryrear now in his seventh season. For Hillsborough, Terence Doston was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double.
