Brandon Grant had a pair of hits and two runs scored for the Crusaders as well, while worked three shutout innings of relief to pick up the win on the mound. Dean Hotz (RBI) and Troy Gonzalez each had a pair of hits for Bell Creek.

Junior Justin Clark struck out eight across five, shutout innings to earn the win on the mound. Ethan Valdez singled in a pair and Nick Rodriguez also had an RBI single in the win, with Jonathan Shoop scoring twice and stealing a bag.

Sophomore James Strom was 3-for-3, with four runs scored, a double and three RBI, while also working two innings on the mound with five strikeouts to earn the win and lead his team to a mercy-rule victory. Nick Cucchi, Preston Nobles and Tanner Boccabello each had a two-hit, three-RBI game, while Israel Oliva had a pair of doubles, two runs scored and an RBI, and Calvin Ziglar went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs in the win.

Carson Caso pitched six innings, allowing just one unearned run to lead the Wildcats to a road victory at Brandon. Caso finished allowing just three hits and striking out 10 before giving way to Ryan Fry, who worked the final inning. Frank Micallef and Steven Hotinski (run) were each 2-for-4 at the plate for the Wildcats. For Brandon, Kendall Spencer had a triple and an RBI double in the game.

Senior captain John Dooley tossed 6 1/3 innings of shutout baseball for Berkeley Prep allowing just one hit and striking out nine and earning his fifth win of the season as the Buccaneers defended its home field against Ohio’s Elyria Catholic. Cade Kurland doubled in a run to get things going for the offense and later added an RBI triple, while Johnathan Bruno cleared the bases with a three-run double and chipped in an RBI sac fly in support of the excellent pitching.

East Bay won its second game this week, holding off a late comeback attempt from Hillsborough. Dan Wright had a two-run double in the top of the seventh to give the Indians the cushion needed to preserve the victory. Deshaun Manuel scored a pair of runs in the win, and made a game ending throw to end the game from left field.
