Bell Creek 20, Clearwater Lakeside Christian 0 – three innings

Senior Brendon Gerena-Lee’s RBI single in the first plated a pair and the Panthers never looked back in a lopsided, three-inning victory at Lakeside Christian. Sophomore Caleb had an RBI single, RBI ground out and a bases loaded walk to spark the offense. Junior Ethan Furst earned the win on the mound and sophomore Frankie Burke struck out three in his inning of work.

Seffner Christian 4, Canterbury 0

Senior Tommy Turkett tossed six innings of shutout baseball striking out 11 against St. Petersburg Canterbury Friday afternoon. Ben Cheek (2-for-3) singled and scored the game’s first run in the fourth on a single by Andrew Ura, and Turkett helped out his own cause with an RBI single in the fifth.

SLAM Academy 5, Brooks DeBartolo 4

Sports Leadership & Management got things going in the fourth as Tucker Bailey doubled in the first run, but it was a three-run sixth keyed by an RBI from Franco Di Gennaro and a two run single by Roberto Rivera that gave the Spartans the win. Brooks DeBartolo’s four-run rally in the sixth came up just short, but as led by a hit and run scored from Austin Stirling and an RBI single   by Cameron Smith (2-for-3). Shay Barbosa earned the win on the mound for SLAM, striking out seven over 5 1/3 innings. Reese Corscadden also had seven strikeouts in a no-decision for the Phoenix.

Oviedo Hagerty 2, Jefferson 1 

Jefferson junior Matthew Johnson struck out six, but five walks and three Dragons’ errors proved costly for the junior pitcher took the loss on the road at Hagerty, despite allowing just on hit. Mario Lopez and Jaiden Duarte each had singles in the loss.
