Junior lefty Will Parkinson struck out a bakers dozen (13) in 6 1/3 innings on the mound for the Buccaneers as Berkeley Prep picked up its second Class 3A-District 8 win of the season over CCC. Parkinson allowed just two hits, while not issuing a walk before handing the ball off to Jake Little, who retired the final two Marauders hitters and notched his first save. Freshman Cade Kurland’s second double of the game kicked things off for the Bucs offense in the fourth, Davis Childers drove in the deciding run and Gunnett Carlson added an insurance run with an RBI double.

Strawberry Crest 12, Freedom 2 – six innings

Freedom took an early lead as Reese Linne scored on an error and then drove in a run the following inning. But from there it was all Strawberry Crest as the Chargers scored 12-unanswered and ended things an inning early via mercy-rule. Rueben Saucedo’s two-run single gave Crest the lead in a six-run third innings, and senior Brent May struck out nine over four innings to earn the win on the mound. Anthony Grasso was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI, Colby Fanning was 2-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and finished the game on the mound striking out five-of-six outs to end it. Alex Mussenden doubled and scored twice for the Chargers.

Seffner Christian 12, Lakeland Santa Fe 2 – five innings

Ben Cheek struck out eight in five innings on the mound as Seffner Christian picked up a mercy-rule win – the Crusaders third on the road this week. Spencer Boynton had three hits, scored three runs and had a pair of RBI, Joey Jensen and Josh Foster (double) each had a pair of hits and two RBI.

Bobby Christy earned his second win in as many days, tossing five shutout innings and striking out 10 for Sickles. Senior Trey Bacon doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run, Kohl Robertson was 2-for-3 with an RBI and runs scored and Tyler Green drove in a pair.

Armwood won in a rained delayed game from Tuesday as the Hawks got a win from Sam Simmons (four innings, one hit, five K’s) and a three-inning save by Brayan Sanchez, who struck out four. Christian Tate doubled and had a pair of hits for the Hawks, Tim Mendizibal and KJ Leshko each had a pair of hits, while Michael McTeir tripled, scored and drove in a run.

Manny Dooley homered, while Hunter Hesselink was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a Bell Creek loss at St. Stephens. Dooley struck out eight on the mound, however the Falcons offense was overwhelming early and held off a late Panthers rally.
