Gaither Senior Colin Jackson struck out six in his five-inning win over district opponent Sunlake on Friday. AJ Graham’s two-run double in the third answered the Seahawks only run of the game, as the Cowboys cruised to a mercy-rule win. Austin Grause doubled and drove in three, Miguel Pina doubled and scored twice, and Jacob Choe went 2-for-3 with two RBI, and scored three times or Gaither. For Sunlake Kory Doerr hit a first inning solo home run.

A rough, seven run second inning proved insurmountable for Brooks DeBartolo, losing to IMG Navy on the road on Friday. Jaeden Johnson hit an RBI single and run-scoring double in the loss and Nick Tomsich had an RBI single.

Sickles Chase Conville doubled in a run in the first inning, but from there it was all Jefferson as the Dragons pounded out 10 runs on 10 hits, and got a great start on the mound from senior Javier James. James struck out five in 5 2/3 innings of work to earn the win, and also helped out his own cause going 3-for-4 with a double, four RBI and scoring twice. Jayden Vazquez drove in a pair and Joseph Fritz was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Dragons.

Sumner 6

Senior Christian Cabina’s bases-clearing double in the fourth pushed King way out in front of Sumner as the Lions took a win on the road behind 10 hits. Cabina also added an RBI single, while David Twiddy (double, two runs), Dontavious Johnson (RBI, two runs), Bennett Weinard (double, run, RBI), and Chris Hendricks (four runs) each collected two hits. Johnson earned his fourth win striking out six over five innings. For the Stingrays, Derrick Burgos had a pinch hit, 2-run single and Manny Ramos singled him in as Sumner tried to mount a comeback in the sixth inning.

Salvy Urso doubled in a pair, immediately followed by an RBI single from Ryan Arroyo to put the Terriers ahead of Lennard in a road win for the Terriers Saturday afternoon. Senior Jack Slater went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in a run to support starting pitcher Branson Angel, who picked up his fourth win with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings on the mound. Senior Brady Burgess finished the game to notch his second save in as many games. For the Longhorns, Matthew Counts was 3-for-4, Joseph Rivera went 2-for-3 with a run, and Andrew Gingrich drove in a run.
