Two productive outs from Brian Canasi and Vincent Docobo pushed Tampa Catholic to an early lead and Ethan Frame drove in the eventual decider with a sac fly to right in the second as the Crusaders are off to a 3-0 start in week one. Junior lefty Danny Lazaro pitched three innings to earn the win, striking out five, and righty Trey Gonzalez finished off the final four frames, allowing just one hit and had three K’s.

The Wildcats pounded out 11 hits, while pouncing on five Lancers errors en route to AATL’s second win of the season. Vincent Verpault had a double and a triple, and an RBI, while Andrew Thalleen was 3-for-4, with two runs and an RBI, and eighth grader Liam Akins drove in the Wildcats first run. Senior Cole Syversen struck out 11 in a complete-game effort, allowing two unearned runs and walking just one. Cambridge Christian scored on a bases loaded walk to Brody Bellomo, and Christopher Stevenson tripled in the fifth and scored on an error.

Jake Turer singled in the Wildcats first run and had an RBI groundball in the seventh to lead the Wharton offense, while Evan Chrest spun a complete-game on the mound, striking out 10 and scattering seven hits. Jake VIldostegui tripled and drove in the Warriors lone run in the first inning, and senior Jacob Hill allowed one run in five innings of work in a no-decision, but struck out nine for Steinbrenner.

Two errors allowed CCC to take an early lead against Tampa Prep and pull away as the Marauders picked up its second win of the season. Sean Wodjan was 2-for-3, with a run and RBI, while Jack Spinnato was 1-for-1 at the plate, with an RBI, two walks and a run scored, while also tossing four hitless innings, striking out 10.
