813Preps Nightly Roundup for 3/1/22

(7) Plant City 5
(4) Bloomingdale 4

Plant City fell behind early, but didn’t fall away as the Raiders battled back and took advantage of a costly Bloomingdale error to plate three runs in the sixth and remained undefeated. An error and a two-run double by Carlos DeJesus put the Bulls up early, and Colby Shelton led off the third with a double and scored on a Tephen Montgomery sac fly. Plant City scratched back two runs in the third, and loaded the bases in the sixth. Anthony Grasso hit a ground ball to the right side and a bad throw into right field cleared the bases. From there Preston Rogers finished off his second inning and earned the win with two strikeouts. Adan Longoria made the start for the Raiders, striking out seven and allowing four runs (though just one earned). Jack Owens struck out eight in a no-decision for the Bulls.
