Newsome led off with three singles from Lucas Phelps, Matt Giles and Evan Dempsey before a walk drawn by Evan Wainman put the Wolves ahead early on the road. Giles finished 3-for-3, scoring three times and doubling in the win. Wainman and Caeden Diaz (triple) each drove in a pair of runs. Sophomore Wade Walton struck out five in three innings of work to earn the win, Brady Carroll struck out five as well, and Matthew Pitre worked the final two innings as the Wolves pitchers held Brandon to one earned run and one hit.

Adan Longoria singled in a run and Plant City added another on a bases loaded walk in the first inning and held off Sumner for a win on the road. Chase Mobley struck out eight, allowing one run on two hits in six innings of work to earn his fourth win, before Preston Rogers struck out the side to earn the save. Stingrays senior Jayden Brown struck out nine in five innings, taking the loss; Gabriel Mangual tripled and Manny Ramos drove in Sumner’s lone run.

Bloomingdale senior Jake Nolte struck out four in five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and earning his first win of the season. Tephen Montgomery was 2-for-3, singling in the deciding run in the first inning, and junior Alex Vazquez had a RBI sac fly and a two-run homer as the Bulls ended things early against East Bay. Carlos DeJesus was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Tyler Clinton was 2-for-3 with two runs and a double for Bloomingdale.

King used a pair of big innings to earn its first win of the season against neighborhood opponent Tampa Bay Tech. In the seventh inning Vashawn Dukes doubled, before Jayden Hill traded places with him with an RBI double, and Corey Coley, Chris Hendricks, Isiah Hilton each had RBI hits in an eight run seventh inning. Alex Jackson and Xavier Johnson hit homers for Tampa Bay Tech, and Ethan Jones was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
