Crest’s Nimmala leads ’23 FACA D-15 honors

Strawberry Crest’s Arjun Nimmala was voted as the 2023 Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 15’s Most Valuable Player by Hillsborough County coaches.

Nimmala hit .478 for the regular season during his senior campaign, with six home runs, 27 RBI and 28 runs scored. Over his four years, the Chargers shortstop has driven in 75 runs and has a career .379 average.

Joining Nimmala as automatic invites the annual baseball All-Star Classic, being held at Historic Henley Fieldin Lakeland, June 12-13, 2023, will be Plant’s Robert Satin and Newsome’s Evan Dempsey.

The coaches meeting also selected the District 15 FACA Players and Coaches of the Year for each classification, with Sickles senior Caden McDonald (Class 6A) and Jesuit’s Wes Mendes (5A) earning POY honors for the second-straight season. Joining them for 2023 are Seffner Christian junior Ethan Duncan (2A), Tampa Catholic senior Danny Lazaro (3A), Jefferson junior Cameron Mallo (4A), and Plant senior Robert Satin (7A).
