Cambridge Christian senior Ethan Goebert pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits and striking out eight, as the Lancers advance to Tuesday’s district semifinal against Seffner Christian (at Carrollwood Day, 4pm). The Lancers took care of the offense in the first inning as Brody Bellomo singled, and scored on an RBI single by Frankie Taylor (who scored later on an error). Academy at the Lakes junior Vinnie VerPault took the loss, allowing one earned run in five innings, while striking out seven, and going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double.

SLAM’s Andrew Bunner went 3-for-4, ending Monday’s quarterfinal game early with a grand slam, driving in a total of five runs and scoring three times, while Ayden Rivera was 3-for-3, with a double, three RBI and two runs scored, and Zack Walker earned the win on the mound, working 3 1/3 and striking out seven.

Tampa Prep 11, Brooks DeBartolo 5

Tampa Prep put up 18 hits, including three, fourth-inning RBI doubles, as the Terrapins defeated Brooks DeBartolo. Isaiah Gonzalez (3-for-5, three RBI) gave his team the lead for good with the first of those doubles, while Derek Stiglich (2-for-4, homer, two runs) and Xavier Brown (2-for-3, two doubles, run) followed in the inning. Kyle Brill earned the win for the Terrapins, pitching four scoreless innings, and striking out four. For the Phoenix, Joe DiCecco was 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Isaac Machado went 2-for-3 with two runs. Tampa Prep advances to Tuesday’s district semifinal against No. 1-seed Tampa Catholic, held at 4:30pm at Berkeley Prep.

Dominic Lyons allowed just one run in five innings, and struck out four as the Lions defeated Middleton. Nicholas Brown went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for King, Aiden Finney was also 2-for-3 with three RBI, and Nico Brown and Cooper Messenger (double) each drove in two runs. Ezekiel Fieger was 3-for-3 for Middleton, and Zachary Philmon singled and scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning. King will travel to West Tampa to take on Jefferson in the district semifinal at 7pm Wednesday.

Freedom pitcher Dylan Hand held the Spartans to one run, striking out nine in six innings of work as the Patriots defeated Spoto. Bryce Nanns (2-for-4, double), Connor Cress (2-for-3, run), Joey Wey (1-for-3, double, RBI) and Douglas Ruggeirio (2-for-4, RBI) led the Patriots offense. Peyton Nisy was 2-for-4 at the plate for Spoto, scoring the Spartans lone run on a Tyler Rucker RBI single in the third. Freedom will take on No. 1 seed Jesuit, Tuesday at 7pm.

Raiders senior Adan Longoria‘s first inning grand slam keyed fast start to mercy-rule win against East Bay. Zane Wright drove in runs in three at-bats, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, and Wyatt Fordham and Deven Gonzalez both went 2-for-3 with a double, with three runs scored and an RBI in the win. Chase Mobley pitched three innings, allowing two runs and striking out six to pick up the win. Shawn Dowe was 2-for-3 for the Indians, with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, and Kayleb Wright drove in a pair. Plant City will travel to face Bloomingdale in Tuesday’s semifinal at 7pm.

Newsome will travel to Winter Haven tomorrow for the district semifinal at 7:30pm.

Six of Crest’s 11 hits were for extra bases, including two triples from Reuben Vasquez (three RBI), a home run from Zach Redner (2-for-2, three runs), and doubles from Arjun Nimmala (2-for-3, two runs, two RBI) and Rayallen Vasquez (2-for-3, three RBI, two runs).

Isaac Martinez (double) and Ethan DeJesus each had two hits for the Stingrays. Steinbrenner advances to Tuesday’s district semifinal at Plant at 7pm.

Palm Harbor attacked at the plates, as every player in the Hurricanes’ lineup picked up a hit. Jackson Withrow‘s RBI double gave PHU the lead in the fifth inning, and added an RBI single later in the game. Grayson Black and Camden Reeves each had two hits and two RBI in the win. Senior Farah Castillo was 2-for-4 for the Sharks driving in a pair in the second inning, and Justin Edwards got Riverview its first run an on an RBI single. Palm Harbor travel to Alonso for a semifinal game Tuesday at 7pm.
