Robinson senior Russell Sandefer struck out nine in his 6 2/3 innings on the mound, earning the win, while allowing one unearned run on two hits. Tucker Wehrman‘s RBI sac fly in the first put the Knights on the board, and Robinson would build on that lead with a five-run third highlighted by an RBI double from Wehrman, an RBI triple from Jeremiah Henderson, and an RBI double by Samual Hyman. Ian Ayers hit a double and scored three times, and Alex DeLise doubled and scored one.

Pitching held things close in West Tampa on Wednesday, as Jefferson’s Cameron Copple (Win, 5ip, two hits, five walks, four K’s) and Cameron Mallo (Sv, 2ip, two hits, four K’s) held King scoreless and advanced to tomorrow’s district final against Robinson. For the Lions Joshua Drexler pitched six innings, allowing two earned runs on just three hits and three walks. Joseph Fritz opened the home-first with a single and Jayden Vasquez drove in the decider with a line drive to center.

T-#7 Gaither 3, Leto 0

Gaither senior Steven Rojas pitched a complete-game one-hitter, walking one and striking out 10 to lead the top-seeded Cowboys to Thursday’s district final. For the Falcons, Fabian Torres (4ip, one earned, four hits, six K’s) held the Cowboys off the scoreboard for three innings before Paul Provencher singled to lead off the home-fourth, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored the difference-maker on an error. Scout Simpson went 3-for-3 with an RBI for Gaither, and Josh Choe was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Armwood 8, Wharton 4

Armwood’s offense came alive late in the game as the Hawks scored five runs in the seventh inning, defeating Wharton and advancing to Thursday’s district final against Gaither. Reem Jackson tied the game at four-all to start the rally, before Christian VillanuevaTJ Hicks and Chase Conti singled in runs. Owen Leever pitched five innings of relief to earn the win, allowing two runs and striking out five. David Ascano drove in the game’s first run for the Wildcats, and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored; Jake Turer doubled, and Jaylen Martin went 2-for-4, with a run and RBI.
