#5 Seffner Christian 4, Carrollwood Day 0

Seffner Christian’s Ethan Duncan pitched a complete game shutout, with four strikeouts and allowed just three hits as the Crusaders defeated Carrollwood Day to claim a district title. Addy Scott went 2-for-3 with a triple, and scored twice, and Garrett Morgan drove in two runs. Carrollwood Day starting pitcher Nick Riedel took the tough loss, striking out 10 and allowing four unearned runs, and Logan Mazur had two hits for the Patriots.

Jefferson 9, Robinson 4

Jamarques BentonCameron Mallo (double), Jayden Vasquez and Alejandro Aguilar drove in early  runs with hits as Jefferson jumped out to an early lead against Robinson, and salted away the win with a four-run fifth highlighted by an Alliuq Troupe two-run double. Mikey Marroquin struck out 10, and allowed two runs in six innings to earn the win. Joseph Fritz went 2-for-4 from the leadoff spot, scoring twice and stealing two bases. Robinson put up 10 hits in the game, but couldn’t keep pace on the scoreboard. Tucker Wehrman went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs, and Garrett Hudson and Brady Capps were both 2-for-4 with RBI in the loss for the Knights.

#2 Jesuit 10, Parrish Community 1

Jesuit’s Zane Pestalozzi‘s three-run homer in the third pushed the game well out of reach as the Tigers claimed its 11th-straight district title, defeating Parrish Community. Wes Mendes struck out four in four innings to earn the win, working around five walks, but allowing no hits. Vince DeCarlo doubled and scored twice for the Tigers.

Armwood’s Antonio Rodriguez (2-for-3) doubled and scored in the first, inning, but Gaither answered with five runs in the first two innings as Scout Simpson singled in a run in the first and two runs in the second inning and also scored twice for the Cowboys. Michael Fernandez struck out nine in five innings of work to earn his eighth win of the season, Zach Callahan pitched a 1-2-3 inning of relief, and Anthony Linares earned the save.
