The Chargers put up five runs in the fourth as a trio of walks, a hit batter, and an error put the game out of reach of Hillsborough’s rally attempt. Chase Conti singled and eventually stole home for the game’s first run; Toby Highsmith went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Senior Landon Wood pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing three unearned runs and striking out four. Kyler Martin was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for the Terriers; Aiden Morales struck out six, but was tagged with the loss. Antonio Davis went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Tampa Bay Tech 3, Freedom 1

Tampa Bay Tech senior Mathew Rojas hit a two run homer to give the Titans an early lead, and Tiergan Andrus-Rhoads kept Freedom off balance, striking out seven in four scoreless innings. Michael Gibson worked two scoreless innings to earn the save. Sadarian Austin doubled and scored a run on a groundball from Rojas, picking up his third RBI. Freedom scored on on a Liam Harris single in the fifth, while senior Ryan Doxtater struck out seven in the loss.

Carrollwood Day 5, St. Pete Shorecrest Prep 3

The hottest team in the 813 kept rolling with a 5-3 win over visiting Shorecrest Prep on Wednesday.  Christian Clarke got the Patriots on the board with an RBI sac fly and added an RBI single in the sixth. Nick Riedel‘s RBI double tied the game in the second, and Nick Bonollo followed on the next pitch with a two-run triple. Logan Mazur allowed three runs (two earned) and struck out seven to earn his third win, working 5 1/3 innings, before Matt Porta recored three outs, and Riedel closed out the game to earn a save. Chris Booth was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Shorecrest Prep.

East Bay took a first-inning lead on a the first of two Rory Beauford RBI triples, and a run-scoring single from Marlon Garcia, who also picked up the win on the mound working three innings, allowing one unearned run and striking out three. David Ruiz singled in Brandon’s lone run in the first inning, Charles Rodriguez was 1-or-3 with a run scored, and Robert Elder was 2-for-3.
