Seffner Christian 9, Brooks DeBartolo 5

DJ Valley‘s two-run single and two more runs on an error gave Brooks DeBartolo a third inning lead, but Seffner Christian chipped away the lead over the next two innings scoring in its final five at-bats to take a win against the Phoenix. Colin Patten (2-for-4) singled in a run in the fourth to tie the games, and the Crusaders took the lead for good on an Ethan Duncan double the next inning. Duncan also earned the win on the mound, his fourth, striking out six while allowing two earned runs on four hits; before turning things over to Austin Trimble who closed out the final two innings, allowing on unearned and striking out three. Cyrus Shokrani was 2-for-4, scoring three times, and doubling in a run for SCA, while Juelz Sidoti was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Joe DiCecco went 3-for-3 for the Phoenix.

Bell Creek 3, Acad at the Lakes 2

After spotting the Wildcats two, first-inning runs on a RBI ground out and a run-scoring single from Mason Hudson (2-for-3), Bell Creek rallied for a win at home, first halving the lead when Canon Bobos led off the second with a single, and eventually scored on a passed ball. And then the Panthers took the lead in the fifth when Bobos tied it with a sac fly, and the game-deciding run scored on a single from Craig Jacobsen. Jacobsen also pitched three innings allowing two unearned runs and struck out three, while William Miller gave the Panthers four innings of scoreless relief, striking out four and allowing just three hits.

Foundation Christian 14, Grace Christian 10 (8)

Brian Figueroa (2-for-3, double, three runs), Peyton Coakley and Evan Booker each drove in three runs for Foundation Christian, and Rolland Williams went 4-for-5, with two runs and two RBI in the win.

#8 Tampa Catholic 5, Steinbrenner 4 (8)

Daniel Smythe lined a single into right field to start the Crusaders eighth inning, moved around on a Christian Serralles sac bunt and a single by Hershey Sanchez, and hurried home on a wild pitch to give Tampa Catholic a walk-off win. RBI hits from Ethan FrameAlex Sotiropoulos (two RBI) and Jose Carrero (double) put the Crusaders up in the third, but Steinbrenner climbed back in it. Kelton Meares hit a hard chopper into right for the Warriors first RBI, and Jorge Romero doubled in another run before two errors tied the game. Jake Owen pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing one unearned and struck out two to pick up the win.

#5 Durant 8, Chamberlain 7 (8)

Durant was able to hold off a Chamberlain team that came to life in the second half of the game. The Cougars took the early lead as Nick April-Gath led off with a single and eventually scored on a productive out from Jackson McClellan (two RBI), before the game played out with three scoreless innings. The Cougars stretched the lead as a pair of Storm errors and a Blaine Rowland  RBI single put the visitors up four runs. But Chamberlain rallied with two runs on an error, a run on a Cameron Moyer single. The eighth inning saw Durant load the bases on walks and scored two on an error, before McClellan came through with another groundball to score the third run. Chamberlain fought to the finish with Kenneth Madrid singling in a pair, but the Storm couldn’t find the tying run as Madrid was caught off third base to end the game.

Strawberry Crest scored two runs on a first-inning Plant error, but the Panthers put up a run every-other inning to claim a home win. Danny Cerelli doubled in a run to center, Rocco DeMarinis doubled and scored on an error to tie the game, Cash Strayer provided the deciding run with an RBI sac fly scoring Tanner Swank (double), and Plant added an insurance run on from a DeMarinis productive out. James Leach was 3-for-3 with a double, all in support of Garrett Hill who allowed just the two unearned runs in his five innings and struck out five. Bo Allen pitched two scoreless innings with a hit and strikeout to pick up his second save.

Shawn Dowe‘s third hit of the game, a single into left walked-off a win in a hard-fought showdown with Blake. Down scored twice and also had an RBI single in the sixth, and Dylan Simonsen cleared the bases in the first with a double. Zechariah Ayers went 3-for-3 and scored three times for the Yellow Jackets, Victor Mendez went 2-for-2, with a triple and three RBI, and Ze’Kori Newton was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Newsome got a double from Cash Peterson to put two in scoring position, and Joseph DiPietro scored two runs with a hit through the left side. That was all the support the Wolves pitchers would need as JP Glassford earned his second-straight win with five innings on the hill, giving up one hit, with eight strikeouts, before Newsome got scoreless innings from Aiden Dolan and Isaiah Sanchez.

Mikey Fernandez struck out eight and allowed four hits across five innings to earn his third win, while the Cowboys offense stacked 11 hits to support him. Josh Choe was 3-for-4, with a run scored, while Jackson Mirza, Nico Lopez (double, run, RBI), SJ Branham (double, two RBI, run), and Anthony Linares (two RBI) each had two-hit games. Linares closed out the game with an inning and two strikeouts, after a scoreless inning from Noah Lockler in the sixth. Jariel Garrigo (2 1/3ip, two K’s) and Zach Chandler (1ip) provided scoreless relief for the Wildcats.

Theodrick Hicks scored four times, doubled, and singled in a run as Armwood defeated Hillsborough at home. Tyler Corns tossed five innings for the Hawks, allowing two runs and striking out six to earn his second win, while Alonzo Godwin finished out the game with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. Christian Villanueava was 1-for-2, driving in a pair in the win. Adrian Morales took the loss, with four runs allowed, but did strikeout eight in his three innings; he also went 2-for-2, with a double and an RBI for Hillsborough. Kyler Martin was 2-for-2 with a run and RBI; Antonio Davis doubled and scored a run, and Curtis Roberts tripled in a run.

A walk and three singles started the scoring for Jefferson as the Dragons defeated district opponent King. Isiah Fernandez had three hits and scored three times, and Moises Gudino cleared the bases with a double for the Dragons. KJ Sampson had two RBI sacrifice flies, and struck out seven, while working five runs. Nico Brown went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI for the Lions, Marco Galo (run) and Koveyontez Balentine each had two hits.

Rain delayed Monday’s Palmetto v Lennard game in the third inning after the Tigers scored early runs in support of Trey Lawrence (3ip, 1 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s) on the mound. The Longhorns traveled south to finish the game on Tuesday, where Braden Wallace posted four no-hit innings, walking a pair and striking out four to earn the save. Senior Andrew Spahn hit a two-run home run in the win. Pablo Garcia pitched four innings for the Longhorns, giving up just one run; and Kevin Hunter hit a double for Lennard’s only hit.

Noah Morales hit a game-winning home run in the top of the 11th – his fourth in three games – to push Durant passed Bloomingdale in extras. Morales, who finished the game 4-for-6, with two doubles and three RBI, upped his average to .467. Bloomingdale jumped out to a four run lead through the first three innings, highlighted by a three-run homer from AJ Cruz in the third, but Durant erased the lead with four of its own in the fourth and fifth, as an RBI single from Jackson McClellan, an RBI double from Nick April-Gath, and RBI doubles from Morales and Brantley Hayward tied the game. Both teams scratched out runs in the ninth (Morales’ second RBI double for the Cougars, and a Dawson Rankin RBI groundout for the Bulls). Blaine Rowland  pitched four innings for the Cougars, striking out seven and allowing four runs, and Chase Mobley earned the win with seven innings of relief, allowing one run and striking out 14. Hayden Porter pitched 6 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one earned, and striking out 10.

Carson Krueger pitched five innings, striking out seven as the Warriors offense supported its pitching with runs in five different innings. Nick Osborne hit the first home run of his high school career, Kelton Meares went 3-for-3 with an RBI, Jorge Romero triple in one and Austin Liss doubled in Romero on back-to-back extra base hits, and Aiden Forde hit a two-run home run in the win. Ze’Kori Newton was 2-for-2 with a run scored for Blake.
