Newsome manufactured two runs in extra innings on two singles and three walks to take a win in a battle of Top 5 teams. Wolves senior Braden Moon (2-for-4) hit his sixth home run of the year in the first inning, Ocean Cozart singled in a second run, and Cash Peterson scored twice. Senior Wade Walton struck out eight in six innings on the mound, and Ryan Harris allowed just one hit in two innings, striking out three and earning the win. Michael Bynum singled and scored on a Brandon Gonzales hit in the second for the Gryphons, and Bynum singled in Cameron Guise (2-for-4) in the sixth. Guise finished five innings, striking out six in a no-decision.

#10 Lennard 2, Chamberlain 1

Lennard senior Kevin Hunter drove in his team’s first run with a sac fly, then after six scoreless innings, lined a game-winning, RBI single into centerfield to give the Longhorns a walk-off win against the Storm. The game-winner also helped Hunter to a win on the mound after he struck out a pair in the top of the seventh. Chamberlain’s Yadiel Garcia pitched the entire way, finishing with seven strikeouts and one earned run, and drove in a run with a single in the first inning. Zack Bird struck out 10 in five innings, allowing one run on four hits in a no-decision.

Carrollwood Day stretched out an early lead, as Ethan Heintz (2-for-3, two RBI) and Nick Bonollo singled in runs in a three-score first inning. Nick Riedel was 3-for-3, with a double, triple and two run scored. Gabe Troya allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings to earn his fifth win, with Evan Mazur and Matthew Porta each providing scoreless relief. For Tampa Prep, Emilio Miranda led off the fifth with a triple and scored on a Logan Bailey triple, who then scored on a steal of home.

Wesley Chapel 10, Freedom 6

Freedom scored all six of its runs in the first two innings, but Wesley Chapel kept pace, and scored three runs three times to claim a win at home against the Patriots. The top three hitters of the Wildcats lineup each collected two hits, with Dylan Pabon scoring three times and driving in a run, Jojo Guevara scoring two and driving in two, and Nolan Hartley driving in two and scoring once. Aiden Nguyen  worked 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, finishing with eight strikeouts and getting the win. Freedom jumped out with two runs with Bryce Nanns singling in a run, and Connor Cress doubled in a pair, before Cade Hoffman and Liam Harris added RBI hits.

Jesuit senior Noah Sheffield hit a two-run home run to left in the first inning and an RBI groundout from Cannon Murtagh added some insurance as the Tigers traveled to Lakeland to take down Jenkins. Aden Knowles pitched 3 1/3, with one unearned and on strikeout to earn his sixth win, and Wilson Andersen finished out the game to earn the save, striking out six and allowing just one hit and two walks.

A two-run single from Alex Sotiropoulos gave Tampa Catholic just enough to sneak by Steinbrenner in an afternoon tilt on Monday. Junior Dominic Woodward held the Warriors to just one run in his four, relief innings, striking out eight batters to earn a win. Jorge Romero singled in the first and scored on an RBI double from Aiden Forde, Cayden Hessemyer was 3-for-4, with an RBI, and Kelton Meares was 2-for-4, scoring twice for Steinbrenner. Carson Arnold‘s RBI single and a productive out by Daniel Smythe erased a two-run deficit in the fourth for the Crusaders, setting up the fifth-inning heroics for Sotiropoulos.

Sickles sophomore Jake Taylor lined a single into shallow center and pinch runner Zach Dial motored from second base and slid in under a high throw to give the Gryphons a win in extra innings on Monday. The run proved the difference in a battle between three senior pitchers, as Wesley Chapel’s Aaron Brooks took the tough loss, allowing the unearned run while pitching 7 2/3 innings, scattering three hits and striking out five. For the Gryphons, Carter LeBlanc gave his team seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits with five K’s, before Nick Hartley worked around one hit and struck out a pair to earn the win in relief.

Jesuit’s DJ Pirela (2-for-3, double) swung at the first pitch he saw on Monday night and smoked a ball to the warning track in the left-center gap for a triple, and hurried home after Noah Sheffield (1-for-3, double) made Northside Christian make a throw to first on a dropped third strike. The run was all Jesuit would need as senior McCall Biemiller held the mustangs to four hits and four walks, while striking out eight to earn the win, and Jonny Sosnowski struck out three in his two innings of work to earn a save. The Tigers added an insurance run in the second as senior Jackson Thomas (2-for-3) led off the home-half with a double and later scored on a wild pitch. Northside Christian’s Nick Bertrand struck out five in his six innings of work, allowing two runs on five hits.

RBI singles by Saxon Shah and Akhil Nimmal gave Strawberry Crest an extra-inning win at Lennard, as senior Brayden DiCerb held the Longhorns to one hit and one walk in five scoreless innings of relief to earn a win. Lennard senior Kevin Hunter‘s RBI double gave the Longhorns the lead in the fourth, and Toby Highsmith reached on an error in the sixth and moved around on a wild pitch, before tying the game on a passed ball. Landon Wood worked four innings on the hill for the Chargers, allowing an unearned run, and striking out four in a no-decision, and Lennard’s Talan Miranda worked five scoreless and struck out three.

Steinbrenner senior Jorge Romero pitched a complete-game, three-hit shutout as the Warriors won on the road at Bloomingdale on Tuesday, with seven strikeouts and just one walk. Senior Cayden Hessemyer‘s leadoff home run to left in the fourth inning provided the winning run, with Hessemyer going 2-for-3 with a double in the win. Cooper Hinson had a double for the Bulls in the loss, and Drew Williams struck out eight, allowing one run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Plant City starting pitcher Jake Carbaugh struck out eight in his six innings, and Plant’s Bo Allen held PC to one run on four hits in his four-inning no-decision. Coy Keller allowed a run in 2 1/3 innings to earn the win, and Rocco DeMarinis struck out a pair to lock down the save. The two teams traded first inning runs on an RBI single by PC’s Wellington Hehn and an RBI knock for Danny Cerelli for the Panthers. Plant City senior Aiden Bean homered to center in the fifth to give the Raiders a brief lead.

Seffner Christian broke a tie in the fourth inning scoring runs in three of the last four innings to defeat the MaxPreps No. 1-ranked Florida Class 4A team on the road on Tuesday. Senior Addy Scott got the Crusaders started with his nation-leading (tied) 13th home run of the year, driving in a pair before the Wildcats tied it in the home half. But the Crusaders would get an RBI single from Juelz Sidoti to take the lead, score one on an error the next inning and Sidoti would produce another insurance run with a groundout in the seventh. Seniors Ethan Duncan (Win; 6ip, 2 earned, five strikeouts) and Austin Trimble (Save; 1ip, 0 H, 1 K) combined on the mound for SCA in the win.

Spoto answered three early King runs in the third inning, before the Lions responded with an RBI sac fly from Martin Gallo to take the lead for good. Koveyontez Balentine gave the Lions a two-run start with a single in the first, and King stretched the lead the next inning with an RBI double by Aiden Finney. Peyton Nisy singled in the Spartans first run in the third, scored on a balk, and Cullen Cairns singled in Spoto’s third run of the inning. Enrique Fernandez struck out eight in five innings, allowing three runs to pick up the win and Caden Harrier allowed a single hit and struck out three in two innings to earn the save for King.

After spotting CCC a first-inning run, Berkeley Prep’s David Parker put the game out of reach with a three-run home run to left field, as he senior collected three hits and scored twice. From there Rivers Kurland  did the rest striking out seven in a complete-game effort, allowing just one run on five hits with no walks. Kurland also added a two-run double, with George Cook and Lucas Farrar each singling in run in a four-run third. Nolan Metcalf was 2-for-3, with two runs scored.

Jarius Morris was 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Wildcats, and Daniel Duno pitched 5 2/3 innings to get the win with two runs allowed and five strikeouts. Samuel Fernandez hit a leadoff homer for the Ravens in the second, and Alvin Santiago singled and scored on a Ihonathan Perez ground ball in the fifth.

Gaither was able to withstand a five-run third inning from the visiting Sharks, as the Cowboys scored in bunches throughout the game on Tuesday. Jackson Mirza and Angel Hernandez both doubled and drove in three runs, David Pina was 2-for-3, scoring three times, and Michael Fernandez earned a senior-night win in relief, pitching two scoreless and striking out five. Ryan Butner went 2-for-3 with a two-run single and a double for the Sharks, and Driston Marino was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Winston Pennant (homer, double, three RBI) and Ethan DeJesus’ both posted a three-hit, three-RBI game, pushing the Stingrays past Robinson. Six different Sumner hitters had multi-hit games in total, including Sebastian Peralta who was 2-for-3, with a homer and double and scored four times. Brady Capps homered for the second time in a week for the Knights, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Eight different Calvary Christian hitters recorded hits in a win at CDS, with Maddox Bozeman going 2-for-4, with three RBI, and Jace Kohler driving in a pair in support of senior pitcher Will Eaton, who struck out nine in his six innings on the mound, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk. Julian Earle (single) and Ethan Heintz (sacrifice) drove in the runs for the Patriots.
