Jackson Mirza kicked off the Cowboys offense with an RBI double to score Eddy Rojo, Anthony Linares drove in a pair, and Alberto Antinori‘s RBI single solidified a big enough lead to put Gaither over Leto on Monday. Both Linares and Antinori added RBI hits in the third and the Cowboys never looked back, avenging a loss to the Indians last week. David Pina went 2-for-2, with two walks, a run and RBI; Mirza finished 2-for-4, with two runs scored. Adam Smolka pitched four innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits with two strikeouts. Rowland Ruiz Jr. doubled and scored a run for East Bay; and Jonathan Bryant was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Armwood 3 – eight innings
Emilio Salgado (2-for-3) doubled in a run in the seventh to force extra innings, and the Gryphons picked up a second win of the tournament when BrandonGonzales singled in the home-eighth and ended the game scoring on a wild pitch. Armwood’s Rhys Brush homered to right to start the scoring in the third, Jake Taylor doubled and scored on a Braden Ross hit in the bottom-half, then the two traded the lead as a Ben Durda sac fly gave Sickles a momentary edge in the fourth, only to see that erased by a Brush RBI single and a double by Christian Villanueva. Zach Dial pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win for Sickles.

Tampa Catholic erased a two-run deficit in the seventh with RBI hits from Cal Johnson and Jose Carrero to force extra innings, then after Carrollwood Day took an 11th inning lead, Carrero torched a two-run homer to right to end the ballgame. Evan Mazur struck out five in 3 2/3 scoreless innings for the Patriots; Allen Soriano went 2-for-5, with a run scored and an RBI single in the 11th, and Charlie Cooperman had two hits and an RBI. On the mound for the Crusaders, Talan MIranda allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings of work, Lucas Cinnante allowed one over 5 1/3, and Ty Fraga earned the win with 2/3 of an inning of relief.

Samuel Nobrega (2-for-3) tripled in a run for the Longhorns. Mason Menotti bunted for an RBI hit for Lennard; and Daniel DePaolo pitched three no-hit innings and struck out four to earn the win.

The Knights took an early lead on a Jackson Tebbe RBI single lined to left, and put the game out of reach with a two-run triple by senior Tyson Boyd (2-for-2, 2 R, HBP). Samuel Hyman doubled in the third and scored on a Cason Cooper double, and CJ Magalang singled in a pair of runs for Robinson. Hillsborough picked up two singles to start the sixth (Juan Pena and Curtis Roberts) and scored its lone run on a balk; and Nathan Vig doubled in the seventh.

Steinbrenner controls its destiny with a 2-0 start in the Saladino Silver Tournament. Cambridge Christian’s Blake Hafner cleared the bases with a triple in the Lancers’ four-run first. The Warriors answered right back, scoring three led by back-to-back RBI doubles by Chase Petker (2-for-2, BB, 2 R) and Will Hoblitzell (2-for-4, R, 2 RBI), then put the game out of reach with a solid hitting including a two-run homer from Dylan Kolsen. Kason Bell had a hit and scored twice for Steinbrenner, and Landon Boever (3ip, 2 ER, 3 H, 5 Ks) earned the win. The Lancers made it interesting loading the bases in the seventh, adding two runs on an RBI groundout by Alex Quintero and a Warriors’ error.

In a tie game, Wharton’s Antonio Fawcett hit his third home run of the season to right field, starting a three-run rally, punctuated by a Jaylen Martin two-run single up the middle as the Wildcats pulled away and held off Leto. Wharton jumped out quickly with back-to-back home runs from Justis Meadows (two-run) and Drew Cobb (HR in two-straight games), then Meadows added a second-inning RBI sac fly to stretch out the lead, and picked up his fourth RBI in the seventh on a groundout. Leto answered with a run on an Andres Martinez groundout in the third, and three runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Julian Najero, and run-scoring singles by Chris Ortiz and Fabian Torres.

Bourdon had a three-hit game, and would single and score in the seventh, and Xavier Ether singled in a run for some insurance. Dylan Wormack pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run and struck out four for Chamberlain. Josh Machado‘s (2-for-3, run) RBI single gave the Raiders an early lead; Salvadore Jaramillo drove in a run in the final inning; and Merrick Smith pitched all seven innings, allowing three earned and struck out nine.

Gavin Hansen pitched six innings, striking out five Phoenix batters, while allowing two earned run and picking up the win, with A Roberts working a clean seventh on the mound. Na’im Salter went 2-for-2 with a run and RBI, and Eli Sims scored twice in the win. Eric Garcia (2-for-3, two runs) put Brooks DeBartolo up early with a two-run homer, and Joe DiCecco had seven strikeouts, working six innings for the Phoenix.
