Gaither fell behind early at home against Plant then rallied in a big way in its final three at bats, sending away Plant with a 10-7 defeat. After Danny Cerelli‘s two-run homer in the fourth stretched the Panthers lead to five runs, the Cowboys started chipping away, first with an RBI single by Ryan Deak and a bases loaded walk in the home-half; then exploded for a six-run fifth with some key two-out hitting from Eddy Rojo (RBI single), Jackson Mirza (two-run triple) and David Pina (RBI single) to take the lead. Angel Hernandez was 2-for-4 for Gaither with two runs scored, Noah Locklear recorded four outs on the mound to earn the win, and Mirza finished out the final five outs to pickup the save. Cerelli was 2-for-4 with three RBI for Plant, Urban Ellis was 2-for-2, with a double, two walks and and RBI and Cash Strayer was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and two RBI.

Grant Brooks (single) and Will Futch (first of two singles) got aboard to start the second inning for the Terrapins before productive outs from Derek Stiglich and Kyle Brill gave Tampa Prep all it would need to defend its home field against Owensboro. Liam Akins added an RBI double to the second, and Futch’s second double in the third built up the lead. Lincoln Bailey held Owensboro to one run on three hits and a walk, while striking out four in six innings, and Koy Fogg struck out one in a clean seventh inning of relief.

Cambridge Christian got on the board with a four-run second inning, getting all it needed with an RBI single from Gavin Lopez (2-for-2, 3 RBI), Brody Bellomo then singled in a pair, and doubled twice in the win, Alex Quintero went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Blake Hafner was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Will Snider pitched four innings, allowing one hit and struck out three to earn the win, and Hafner struck out three in his one inning of relief.

Zephyrhills Christian 4 – six innings

Foundation Christian put the game away early with five runs on seven singles in the first inning pushing the lead out and scoring throughout and winning a mercy-shortened win against ZCA. Ryan Ortiz (2-for-5, two runs) started the home-first with a single and scored the games first run; Caleb Hom was 4-for-4, scored four times and drove in a pair, Luke Michie was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and three RBI; Gabe Messing was 2-for-4 with a double, four RBI and a run, and Henry Salter was 3-for-3, scored twice and earned the win, pitching five inning and striking out seven.

Brooks DeBartolo 4 – eight innings

Brooks DeBartolo battled back to tie its game against IMG Blue in the fifth inning, forcing extras and had the tying run aboard after clawing back two of the three runs spotted to its opponents in the eighth inning. Eric Garcia singled in a run in the fourth for the Phoenix, Van Gannon singled and scored on a wild pitch in the fifth, then had an RBI sac fly in the eight, and Jose Gutierrez pitched six innings for BDCHS, striking out four and allowing one earned run.

Middleton 2 – five innings

Rhys Brush was hit to lead off the game and Christian Villanueva would put him on the board with an RBI single before the Hawks would add six the next inning and pull away from Middleton for win on the road. Villanueva would later add an RBI double to the total in the fifth, Rhyan Yetman posted a 4-for-4 game, with a double, two runs and two RBI; Princeton Clark was 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs and two RBI; and Zalen Hicks pitched four innings, allowing one earned and had seven strikeouts. Suhaan Vusirikala and Marco Pursley were both 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Tigers.
