A leadoff single from Brayden Nanns (2-for-3, two runs) in the sixth and an Andrew Montero RBI single to right would give the Crusaders the final edge as Seffner Christian claimed the SSAA Class 5A State Championship Saturday afternoon. A two-run double by Kris Colondres and an RBI single from Uriah Bullock (2-for-4) put up three early runs as SCA steadily built up a lead only to be challenged as Master’s Academy rallied back to tie the game twice. A trio of freshmen worked on the mound for the Crusaders win: David Sidoti (3.2ip, 4 ER, 5 H, 4 BB, 2K); Caleb Pelaez (1.1ip, 1 ER, 1 H, 2 BB); and winning pitcher Mason McBane (2ip, 0 R, 1 H, 2 K; and 1-for-1, R, RBI)
