Newsome jumped out with four runs in the first led by a Jacob Swartzlander two-run single, but only managed one more run in the extra-inning game. Rodriguez had a solo shot in the first and added an RBI single in the fifth to his three-hit night, and K Wilkerson doubled in a pair of runs for the Raiders. Jake Carbaugh allowed four earned in four innings, but struck out seven, before Merrick Smith went seven relief innings, allowing just four hits and striking out six to earn the win. Cole Walton collected three hits for the Wolves, and Robertson DiPietro struck out six in 3 1/3 innings (allowing three runs) in a no-decision.

The Crusaders scored four runs in the third started by an RBI single lined to left by Darnell Mills (2-for-3, two RBI, run); and Paxten Angel delivered two shutout innings of relief, striking out four and issuing one walk to earn the save.

Berkeley Prep made two, first-inning runs stick taking a pitcher’s duel on the road at River Ridge. Jett Walters opened the season with a leadoff single, before scoring the game’s first run on an RBI double by Parker Mitzel to center. Mitzel would later score the deciding run on a dead ball ruling. Junior Nolan Parmer struck out five, scattered three walks in three innings for the Buccaneers, Briggs Tibbals (one run, one hit) had six strikeouts in three innings, and George Cook worked a 1-2-3 seventh, struck out one and earned the save. The Royal Knights got a solo home run from Hagen Conner, who also struck out five in 4 2/3 innings on the mound.

East Bay battled back with a two-run sixth to tie the game when Qwenlen Bennett singled, before loading the bases in the seventh and winning on a walk-off ball four drawn by KJ Sampson. Kaden Hess was 2-for-2 in the loss, and Yadiel Rivera-Morales singled in a run for the Sharks. Rowland Ruiz Jr. was 3-for-4 for the Indians, and Connor Gavigan (run) and Jackson Rana (2-for-2) both doubled in the win.
Tough 3-2 loss in the bottom of the 7th tonight, but we played a heck of a game on the road against our cross town rivals. Just getting started.

Martin Galo (3-for-4, two runs) led off the game with a double and with two outs scored the deciding run on a steal of home, he’d add some insurance with a RBI triple in the seventh. Albert Antinori doubled in Gallo in the third, and Adam Smolka pitched two no-hit innings and struck out five Ravens batters. Julian Batista struck out six, but was charged with the loss allowing two runs (one earned) in his four inning start.

The Gryphons answered a Steinbrenner run with a four-run fourth inning, sparked by RBI doubles from Lee Melamut and Zack Dial (2-for-4), along with an RBI single by Cole Shearer. Ben Durda worked 4 2/3 innings to earn the win, allowing two earned and striking out five for Sickles. Will Hoblitzel was 2-for-3 for the Warriors with two RBI, and Chase Petker doubled and scored a run in the loss.

Bishop McLaughlin senior Jacob Boyd tied the game in the seventh inning with a pinch-hit, two-run double, before the Hurricanes got a walk-off win on a passed ball. The Terrapins took an early lead as catcher’s interference with the bases loaded started the scoring in a four-run fourth, highlighted by a Langston Sallis (2-for-4) two-run single into left. But the Hurricanes answered right back with three runs in the home-half, highlighted by a two-run Lucas Zarlenga single, and an RBI hit from Conner McGuire. Liam Akins doubled and scored a run for Tampa Prep, and had five strikeouts while being tagged with three unearned runs in his four inning start. Armando Persia had eight strikeouts in 3 1/3 for Bishop McLaughlin, but allowed four runs (two earned) in a no-decision.

Senior Javier Navas-Hoyer made a four-inning start and earned the win, scattering five hits and two walks, and striking out six. Lennard rallied late with a three-run six started by a AJ Aikens (2-for-4) double and eventually RBI hits from Mason Menotti (3-for-4) and Mikie Locke (2-for-3, double), and Julian Ware singled in a run in the seventh. But prior to that the Bulls stretched out the lead keyed by doubles from Braxton Wilken, Evan Plusquellic and Saul Aponte.
