Berkeley Prep righty Jett Walters held the Hurricanes to one earned run on four hits and three walks, while striking out four in a complete-game effort Monday afternoon. After an error allowed Bishop McLaughlin to take a one-run lead in the third, the Buccaneers answered right back in the home-half with four-straight, one-out singles highlighted by Walters helping his own cause with a two-run hit through the left side, and Carson Binder driving in what would prove to be the deciding run on the next pitch.

Shorecrest Prep’s Edward Sax pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout, while striking out five and out-dueling Bell Creek’s Evan Booker (6ip, 1 ER, 6 H, 8 K). Braden Stone (2-for-3) led off the home-first with a double and scored the game’s only run on a Kevlar Stross (2-for-3) single to left.

Lakeland Christian jumped ahead early when Brody Brenneman doubled in a pair in the first inning; setting up Vikings freshman Kole Walker for his five-inning start, where he held Tampa Prep to one hit and one walk, while striking out four. Gavin Byrd was 2-for-2 with a run scored; and Maclain Irby struck out three in an inning of relief. The Terrapins took advantage of four walks in the seventh inning to put up its lone run of the game. Erik Skiendziel took the loss allowing three earned runs on five hits over three innings, finishing with six strikeouts.

Seffner Christian senior Tyler Tate took a no-hitter through five innings, and finished off a two-hit, nine-strikeout shutout as the Crusaders picked up a road win in Lakeland. Peyton Silvey (two runs) singled in the game’s first run in a four-run second inning; and Kensen Angel was 1-for-3 with two runs scored in the win.

Robinson 2 – five innings

Alonso opened Monday morning’s game at Robinson with a five-hit, five-run first inning and never looked back. Raymond Llanes was 2-for-3 in the win with a double and triple, while driving in two runs; a Yohan Cintron up-the-middle single started off the Ravens scoring in the first; Jaylen Campos was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI; Zach Guerrero was 2-for-2 with two RBI; and Noah Renew worked two innings, allowed one hit and struck out three to earn the win. Robinson got on the board in the fifth inning with a Nick Clendenin RBI single and a productive ground ball by Collin Rosenberg; and Tommy Fitzgerald had two hits in the loss.

The Mustangs sent 17 to the plate in an 11-run fourth inning, while a trio of Morgan pitchers no-hit Bradenton Bayshore in a five-inning, mercy-rule win. Bryce Black (2-for-4, two RBI) singled in a run in the first inning to give the Mustangs all the runs needed, and Easton Shoulders (7 K’s) pitched three no-hit innings, allowing one run on two walks and a wild pitch; Maxzell Mathis struck out two in a 1-2-3 inning of relief, and Yeilen Rodriguez allowed one run on one walk with two strikeouts. Aaron Lord was 2-for-4 with four RBI (two RBI hits in Morgan’s big fourth inning); Mathis was 2-for-2, with a double, three walks, two RBI and three runs; and Mario Mitchell went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
