** Thanks to Jay Recher for providing us with these postgame interviews
Gaither’s Albert Antinori was hit by a pitch in the second inning and would score the game-tying run on an error, then the Cowboys senior really got to work with two three-run homers helping his team pull away from East Bay and winning the team’s seventh-straight. Ryan Deak doubled in a pair in the win; Noah Lockler earned the win with four runs allowed (one earned) on six hits with four strikeouts. Jeffrey Diab was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs for the Indians; Connor Gavigan was 2-for-3 with a run scored and Ethan Cunningham drove in the game’s first run.
This kid is a HUGE reason why @GaitherBaseball is 12-1 to start the season

After a first-inning Plant error spotted the Dragons two runs, Jefferson added to the lead with RBI singles by AJ Cruz and Kaleb Cherry in the next inning to push the lead out far enough to hold off a Panthers’ three-run fifth. Ethan Savinon picked up his fourth win as the Panthers offense picked up six hits and seven walks off the junior, but nipped a Plant rally with his fourth strikeout against the final batter he faced; Cherry struck out a pair over two scoreless innings of relief to earn the save. Will Meade (2-for-3, 2B, run) got Plant on the board in the fifth with a line-drive single to right, before two bases loaded walks brought the game within a run; Urban Ellis was 2-for-3 with a double; and Joel Salinas pitched two no-hit innings of relief with one strikeout.

Robinson’s Carson Cooper (2-for-2, double) got the scoring going the first of his three RBI in the game, but Sumner evened things in the home-first with a solo homer from Winston Pennant (2-for-2, two walks, two runs); but the Stingrays pulled away with a five-run fourth inning, and added some much-needed insurance in the sixth highlighted by a Cameron Pacquette RBI sac fly and Pennant scoring on a wild pitch; and Braylon Disla was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Collin Rosenberg tripled and scored three times for the Knights; and Tommy Fitzgerald singled in a pair in an unsuccessful final inning rally for Robinson.
