Sumner senior Ethan DeJesus struck out 13 (94 on the season) allowing the unearned run on one hit over five innings; and Gaither’s Mathew Altman picked up his nation-leading 11th win of the season, pitching 6 1/3 innings, scattering five singles and two walks, with four strikeouts. The Stingrays got two into scoring position in the seventh and pushing Altman off the mound, and Adam Smolka got his fifth save, with a strikeout and a fly ball to end the game.

Sickles made a leadoff Bulls error in the fifth inning hurt with four hits, a walk and a hit batter to score five runs and defeat Bloomingdale. Ben Durda hit an RBI single to break a 1-1 tie, Emilio Salgado hit an RBI single to left; Cole Shearer doubled in a pair as the Gryphons pulled away. Ayden Rivera held the Bulls to one unearned run over four innings, struck out three and earned a win; and Ryan Carvajal picked up a three-inning save with two strikeouts. Jake Taylor doubled and scored twice for Sickles. Payton Jennings hit an RBI sac fly for the Bulls only run in the fourth; and Luke Long struck out four in two innings of relief.

But from there, Hillsborough freshman pitcher Ja’zyhun Redd held the Knights to just two more hits and two walks, while striking out six. Knights sophomore Lincoln DeGroot pitched five scoreless, allowing five hits and two walks and struck out two in a no-decision. Rocco Sabella was 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Terriers; and  Rashaun Chatman hit a pinch-hit RBI single to left.

Steinbrenner took an early lead similarly when two runs scored in the first on wild pitches; and Noah Corps scored his second run on a steal of home in the third. The Wildcats responded with two runs in the third on a Nolan Hartley RBI single and an RBI sac fly by Aiden Nguyen.
