Tampa Catholic weathered a big Brooks DeBartolo inning and battled back for a one-run win. Carlos Cruz doubled in a run, and Ethan Frame singled in the deciding run in the sixth inning. Vincent Docobo was 3-for-3, had a pair of doubles, drove in three and scored twice for the Crusaders, while Tony Calvo was 2-for-2, with a double and three RBI. Trey Gonzalez picked up the win for TC on the mound with 3 2/3 innings of shutout relief with five strikeouts, and Alex Prieto struck out two in a clean seventh inning to earn the save. Brooks DeBartolo’s Cole Flahart (2-for-3, run, RBI) doubled to start the second inning as the Phoenix strung together three hits and a few walks to plate six runs

Wharton scored five runs to tie the game and force extra innings on a Henry Griffith RBI hit, then answered a Sickles run with two in the eighth winning at home on a Jake Turer bases-loaded single to centerfield. David Limbach was 2-for-5, with two runs and an RBI, Drew Cobb was 3-for-4 for the Wildcats with two runs and an RBI. Caden McDonald was 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBI for the Gryphons, and pitched five innings in a no-decision, striking out seven, and allowing three earned runs; Bryce Vance was 4-for-4 with three RBI.

Nick April-Gath (2-for-4) and Dylan LaPointe (2-for-4, two RBI) had RBI singles in the second inning to give the Cougars the lead needed to defeat Steinbrenner on the road on Thursday. Blaine Rowland pitched five innings, allowing a single run and struck out three. Steinbrenner senior Evan Cuervo singled to start the fourth and scored on an Andrew Geraghty single for the Warriors lone run. Errors proved costly for Warriors pitchers including starter Jacob Hill, who allowed three unearned run, but finished with seven strikeouts.

Middleton’s RJ McIntyre drove in a run in the first inning, and scored the deciding run on a Naky Allen (2-for-3) RBI single. Senior Nathan Vong worked around 11 Spoto hits to pick up the complete-game win for the Tigers. Spoto’s Cullen Cairns was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Abel Jimenez had two doubles and Chris Baez doubled in a run for the Spartans.

Strawberry Crest got the better of a home-run-fest with Plant as the Chargers wrapped up the regular season with a win in South Tampa. It was a two-run double from senior Ethan Pues that gave the Chargers the final advantage needed in the fifth inning, but padded the total late with a two-run homer from Zach Redner and a solo home run from Arjun Nimmala. Redner struck out nine in six innings to earn his seventh win, while Alex Philpott struck out a pair to earn his fourth save. Plant got solo home runs from Michael Hawks and Tanner Gilbert (back-to-back in the third) and another solo homer by Robert Satin in the sixth.

Michael Morrison tossed four shutout innings of relief, allowing two hits and striking out three. Kevin Hunter singled and scored on a Farah Castillo RBI single, and Vincent Peinado walked to score a second run for the Sharks.

Rocco Vincent was 2-for-4, with a run, Manny Ramos had a double, RBI and run. Jayden Brown pitched four shutout innings of shutout relief, allowing one hit and striking out five. Justin Corns (two RBI), Kyle Leshko (2-for-5, run), and Austin Leever (1-for-5, RBI) each had doubles for Armwood in the loss.
