Tampa Catholic senior Danny Lazaro‘s two-run homer to right gave the Crusaders all the runs needed to pickup the first win of the season, as Bransen Angel struck out seven in five innings of work on the mound. Senior Rolando Jimenez was 3-for-3 for the Crusaders with a double.

An error allowed two early Sumner runs, but it was a big fifth inning where 11-straight Stingray hitters reached base that put things away early in the fifth with a nine-run frame. Freshman Ethan DeJesus struck out eight to earn the win for Sumner.

Gabe Troya struck out nine, allowing one unearned run on one hit in his five inning start helping the Patriots to a road win. Sophomore Christian Clarke was 3-for-3, scored a run and had an RBI double, and senior Brennan Leonhardt was 3-for-4 hit a two-run home run to left in a four-run fifth inning for Carrollwood Day.

Sophomore Chase Conti led off the Hawks season with a line drive triple, eventually scoring in a four-run first for Armwood. Conti made his first varsity start, allowing three earned runs and striking out six to earn his and new Armwood head coach Ricardo Sanjurjo first career wins.

Spoto scored in every inning as the Spartans took its home opener against Middleton. Four Spartans pitchers limited the Tigers to two hits on two unearned runs. Seniors Chase Wink hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning, and Joshua Fernandez went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
