Sickles senior Cameron Guise allowed a first-inning Largo run, but erased that with an RBI single in the home-half – the first of his five RBI as the Gryphons defeated the Packers early as Guise doubled in a pair to end the game early in the sixth. A nine-run first inning for Sickles allowed head coach Eric Luksis to pull his ace after just 29 pitchers, making Guise available for the region semifinal game against Gaither on Friday. Junior Braden Ross was 2-for-4 with four RBI, Jordan Yost went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBI, Jaden Nazar went 2-for-3 with a double, run and two RBI, and Brandon Gonzales was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Jorge Morales singled in a run in the Packers five-run fourth, and Tyson Davis doubled in a pair.

Bloomingdale made short work of Palmetto, avenging its district final loss with 14 hits – including three homers and three doubles – while Hayden Porter pitched five shutout innings. Cooper Hinson (2-for-4, RBI) and Dawson Rankin started the game with singles and the Bulls put up two runs in the first on a Pierce Collins RBI sac fly and the first of two doubles from Johnny De La Rosa (two RBI, run). Porter worked all five innings of the mercy-shortened game, allowing just two singles and a walk, while striking out two. Luke Rossi, Isaiah Perez, and Vincent Dinzeo each homered as every Bulls hitter recorded at least one hit in the win. Bloomingdale will travel to Tarpon Springs East Lake for Friday’s Class 6A semifinal, after the Eagles defeated Punta Gorda Charlotte 8-2 on Tuesday.
