Five Middleton hitters had a multi-hit game as the Tigers picked up the first win of the season at home on Tuesday. Dayvin Fisher (2-for-4, 2 R, RBI) gave Middleton the lead in the second inning, Sankalp Jain (2-for-4, 3B, 2 runs, 2 RBI), Tate Hancock was 3-for-3 with a run, and Tyler Holland (two RBI, R) and Darrion Marchman (2 R, RBI) each had two hits. Zachary Philmon struck out eight and earned the win, allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings. Christophe Rojo (R, RBI), Luke Jones (R, RBI) and James Williams (R, RBI) each had two hits for Tampa Bay Tech.

Durant’s Aidan Junttila struck out eight in 3 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball, leaving with some soreness in the fourth, and the Cougars got ahead and held of Riverview for a one-run win. Freshman Brody Lissy reached on an error to start the home-third, stole second and third and scored the first run on a Shawn Graves sac fly in the third. The Cougars built on to the lead an inning later, when Lissy drove in two with a double to left. The Sharks fought back in the sixth with two runs on a double by Anthony Shellman, and junior Driston Marino worked six innings, and struck out seven while allowing two earned runs.

The Crusaders finally got going in the sixth inning as SLAM’s pitching faltered as a bases loaded hit-by-pitch got the run Tampa Catholic needed, before adding on five more runs, highlighted by sophomore Jack Smythe‘s two-run double and a John Oliver two-run single. Lucas Cinnante held the Spartans to just three hits, working 5 2/3 and striking out nine, before being relieved by Talan Miranda, who earned the win finishing off the final four outs (two Ks).

Jefferson rallied with a four-run fifth inning to tie the game on the road at Crest, then took advantage of sloppy play from the Chargers to score two runs on wild pitches to pick up the win. After Crest jumped out to an early four run lead, sophomore Ethan Savinon came on in relief, allowing just one unearned on one hit, four walks and struck out nine to earn the win for the Dragons. Kaiden Johnson went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI, and Elijah Benton doubled in a run in the win. For the Chargers, Chase Conti held Jefferson to a single run in a four-inning no-decision; and Dillon Knight was 2-for-3, with a double, triple and three RBI.

The Bulls added a five-spot in the using RBI singles from AJ Cruz, Braxton Wilken, Saul Aponte, Trey Baker & Mason Johnson. Vinny Dinzeo went 2-for-3 in the win, scoring one run.

Newsome’s Alec Chin (3-for-3, three RBI, two runs) proved the difference maker with an RBI single in the seventh to push the Wolves over Lennard. Lincoln Jordy doubled in two runs for the Wolves, and four Newsome pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts. RJ Torres went 2-for-4 with a double for the Longhorns, and AJ Aikens (2-for-5) doubled and drove in a run; and Sebastian Rojas went 2-for-2, with a double and run.

Armwood spotted the Storm a run in the fourth, but responded with runs in each of the next three innings, supporting Hawks junior Zalen Hicks, who allowed one unearned, on two hits and struck out five in a complete-game effort. Carlos Navarro tied the game with an RBI double lined to center in the fourth, the Hawks took the lead on an error the next inning, and Rhyan Yetman (2-for-2, run, walk, SB) singled in an insurance run in the sixth.
