Berkeley Prep senior Rivers Kurland struck out seven in a four-inning no-hitter (three walks) at home as his offense supported him with crooked numbers in every inning. Parker Mitzel had a 3-for-3 night, with a homer, RBI double and the deciding RBI hit in the first inning; George Cook was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and Ben O’Brien was 2-for-3 with two RBI. This was the third no-hitter of Kurland’s high school career.

Jesuit and Venice battled it out for five scoreless innings before the Tigers finally broke through with a three-run double by Vincent DeCarlo (his second double of the game) and an RBI double from Wilson Andersen. Andersen worked 5 2/3 innings on the mound, striking out seven before two errors turned into three unearned runs for the Indians (ranked No 9 in the country by MaxPreps). Ben Burke went 2-for-4 with a run scored, and picked up the save, striking out a pair and giving up one hit.

Senior Brayden Nanns had two hits including an RBI single in a seven-run second inning for Seffner Christian, as the Crusaders hitters were patient drawing six walks in the frame to pull away from visiting SLAM Thursday afternoon. Bryce Nanns doubled and scored twice in the win, Juelz Ortiz drove in a pair, Uriah Bullock had a double and RBI, Alejandro Hamana worked five inning, striking out three to earn the win for SCA. Adonys Nova doubled in the game’s first run for SLAM and was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Andrew Bunner was 1-for-4 with two RBI, and JR Eichmann held SCA to one earned in 4 2/3 innings, while striking out four.

After playing to a 3-3 tie through five innings, Plant City and Gaither played a full seven scoreless innings where Cowboys senior Jackson Mirza had gone 0-for-6 before finding success with an RBI, walk-off single to centerfield in the 13th. Sleand Mantano was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI in the win, and five Gaither pitchers struck out a combined 20 batters – led by Anthony Linares’ six scoreless innings with 11 Ks, and Adam Smolka earning the win with two no-hit innings and two strikeouts. Jake Carbaugh doubled in a pair for the Raiders in the fourth, Eli Thomas had two hits, and Alex Rodriguez pitched six scoreless, allowing two hits, three walks and struck out seven.

Durant held on for a one-run win on the road, halting a King rally in the seventh. Senior Brody Lissy doubled in a pair in the top of the seventh, proving crucial as the Lions scored five in the home-half highlighted by an RBI sac fly from Nicholas Brown and RBI singles from Nico Brown and Xavier Gori. Durant starting pitcher Owen Franklin allowed one run on one hit, and struck out eight earning the win with five innings pitched.

Cameron Paquette drove in the deciding run in the top of the seventh with a single into right field as Sumner rallied for a win on the road at Armwood. Isaiah Welch held the Hawks to three runs on six hits and struck out five in a complete-game effort for the Stingrays, Sebastian Peralta was 2-for-4 with Arun scored, and Welch drove in a run to support his cause. Senior Carlos Navarro was 3-for-3 with a double, run and two RBI, Rhys Brush doubled and scored two, and Rhyan Yetman held Sumner to two runs in six innings, while striking out four.

Hits were hard to come by, but Newsome fought for its sixth-straight win, led by Cameron Wood on the mound as the senior struck out eight in five innings and allowed one run. Cooper Topp gave up one unearned in two innings, with three strikeouts while earning the save. Ocean Cozart was 2-for-3 and Alec Chin picked up his 13th RBI of the year. Xavier Ether was 1-for-3 for the Storm and Brihan Arteaga Diaz pitched 4 2/3 innings without giving up an earned run with three strikeouts.

Lennard jumped out fast with a four run first, highlighted by a two-run double by Samuel Norbega, but Sickles answered in a big way with a home-first 10-spot. Emilio Salgado doubled twice in a three hit, one RBI game, Charlie Martz was 2-for-3, with two runs scored and three RBI, and Jake Taylor got his third win of the year, and drove in a pair of runs with a double.
