2025 Most Valuable Player (6A-7A)

Jordan Yost produced his entire four-year career for the Gryphons, but saved his best for his senior season, where he batted .412 while helping Sickles to a district title and region final appearance. Yost, a University of Florida signee and potential early-round draft prospect, earns our Class 6A-7A Most Valuable Player honors – his second All-813Preps First Team selection. He scored 48 runs (second in the state), led the county with 28 stolen bases, while driving in 26, walked 20 times and was hit by a pitch 12 times. He reached base safely in 35-of-36 games this season, only striking out once his senior year, and just 10 times in 374 career plate appearances. Yost was named Hillsborough County’s Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) MVP, and named the Saladino and Wade Boggs Award winner this season.

2025 Pitcher of the Year (6A-7A)

Bloomingdale senior Hayden Porter followed up on his First Team selection a season ago with an 8-3 senior year, a 1.29 ERA and 87 strikeouts. Porter, a Polk State signee, pitched three complete-game shutouts while helping Bloomingdale to a county-best 28-7 record, and district and region titles. Porter had four double-digit strikeout games – including three-straight four-hit, 10+ K games in the postseason. He finished with 199 varsity strikeouts (including his freshman season at Foundation Christian) and had a career 18-8 record.

2025 Hitter of the Year (6A-7A)

Justis Meadows led one of the most explosive offenses in the county this season, and flat-out produced for four seasons at Wharton (27-8). He had a county-leading 48 hits this season (a .414 average), tied for the county lead with 42 RBI, and tied for third with 37 runs scored. The Florida Tech signee hit 13 doubles, six home runs and stole nine bases while helping the Wildcats to district and region titles, and a first-ever state final four appearance. Meadows had 127 hits in 106 career varsity games (.385 average), scored 92 times and had 82 RBI.

2025 Coach of the Year (6A-7A)

Bloomingdale head coach Kris Wilken becomes our first back-to-back AND first three-time Coach of the Year recipient after leading the Bulls to a new program win total (28-7) and back-to-back state semifinals. The Bulls won the 2025 Saladino Tournament, before winning district and region titles. He won his 300th game of his career and led the Bulls to the state semifinals for the fourth time in his 18 years as head coach.

2025 All-813Preps First Team Class 6A-7A

Alonso senior Bryan Alonso went 7-4 on the mound with a 2.35 ERA and 70 strikeouts helping the Ravens to a 21-13 record and the program’s fifth state final-four appearance. Alonso also played second base and shortstop, had 11 runs and 11 RBI, with four doubles and a home run. On March 27 against Leto, Alonso pitched a perfect game with 11 strikeouts.

Wharton’s game-changing junior backstop Chase Anello also put up an incredible offensive season batting .343, while driving in 34 RBI, scoring 13 times, hitting nine doubles, two triples and six home runs. Anello helped the Wildcats to a district title and first-ever region championship.

Plant senior Danny Cerelli drove in 37 runs this year – good for third among Hillsborough’s Class 6A-7A players – while batting .413. Cerelli, a Santa Fe College commit, scored 26 runs, hit eight doubles and three home runs for the district champion and region semifinalist Panthers. He had 14 multi-hit games his senior season while serving as Plant’s everyday first baseman.

Newsome righty Aiden Dolan went 8-2 this season with a 1.35 ERA and 74 strikeouts, while walking 24 in his 53 innings. The Wolves senior had a 12-strikeout performance against region qualifier Gaither to start the season and earned two wins in the region quarterfinals against Strawberry Crest. `

Daniel Duno stepped to the forefront of Hillsborough County pitching with a strong junior season, going 8-3 with a 2.64 ERA and 67 strikeouts. He opened his year on the mound with a seven-strikeout win over Sickles and added a region final win over the Gryphons in May. The righty helped the Wildcats to district and region titles and tossed three complete-games – including a tough loss in the state semifinals to Gainesville Buchholz, where Duno struck out eight and allowed three unearned runs on just two hits.

Panthers junior Urban Ellis made a big impact for the strong defense Plant has been known for, solidifying shortstop. While offensively, Ellis was a run-scoring machine, crossing the plate 37 times (fourth among Hillsborough County players), while batting .334, driving in 21 on six doubles two triples and three home runs. He also walked 23 times for the district champion and region semifinalist Panthers.

Antonio Fawcett made a huge impact for the Wildcats this season after transferring from Jesuit. Locking down centerfield for Wharton, Fawcett scored 35 runs (fifth-most in the county), while batting .320 with 25 RBI. The Miami Dade College signee finished tied for the county lead with eight home runs, while also hitting eight doubles and two triples, and stealing 12 bases for the state semifinalist Wildcats.

Brandon Gonzales finished a stellar high school career with a 7-1 record on the mound, a 3.22 ERA and 56 strikeouts. The Pasco-Hernando State College signee went 18-2 over his career on the mound for the Gryphons with 140 career strikeouts. At the plate, Gonzales hit .292, drove in 27 runs, scored 21 times, and hit five doubles, two triples and six homers for the district champion and region finalist Gryphons.

Anthony Linares brought some of the nastiest stuff in the county on the mound for Gaither this season. He was 5-2, with a 0.81 ERA and 56 strikeouts, while walking just seven batters. He also scored 13 times and drove in 10 on offense for the region quarterfinalist Cowboys.

Jackson Mirza earned his second-straight All-813Preps First Team nod with a big senior season; providing excellent defense from centerfield and batting .398. Mirza lit up the bases with 25 stolen bases, while scoring 24 times, driving in 22, hitting eight doubles, two triples and three home runs. Mirza, a USF signee, scored 86 runs in his four-year varsity career at Gaither.

Javier Navas-Hoyer led Hillsborough County’s Class 6A-7A pitchers with 88 strikeouts this year, while going 7-3 with a 1.62 ERA. The junior righty had a strong midseason run, which included a start in the Saladino Tournament championship allowing one hit and three walks over 6 2/3 shutout innings and was named the tournament’s Co-MVP.

Sickles’ Jaden Nazar was one of the county’s most fearsome hitters, earning his second All-813Preps First Team honors by tying for the county lead with 42 RBI. The HCC signee batted .362, scored 25 times, had 10 doubles and six home runs during hi senior season for the district champion and region finalist Gryphons. In two varsity seasons Nazar collected 79 hits, 69 RBI and scored 45 runs.

Part of the most successful trio of starting pitchers in the county this season, Bloomingdale junior Vaughn Osting went 8-1, with a 1.28 ERA and 65 strikeouts. The right-hander earned strong early-season wins against Plant and Gaither, but stepped up in a big way in the postseason, earning a district championship win against Durant, and clinching the region semi and quarterfinal series with wins, while allowing just two earned runs across 16 1/3 in his final three starts.

Defensive Player of the Year: Plant senior Cash Strayer was a five-tool standout, blending speed with power, incredible defense in centerfield and a strong arm, while continuing to live up to the few four-year starters all time for the Panthers. In his senior season the UF signee batted .389, tied for the county lead with eight homers, drove in 21, scored 39 times, hit six doubles, stole 14 bases and walked 25 times. He scored 96 runs for Plant over his four seasons.

Chargers senior Brisen Tweedy hit .383 (31 hits) this season, scored 23 times and drove in 16 runs, while also making 11 appearances on the mound with a 6-5 record, a 1.38 ERA and 48 strikeouts. The USF signee threw six complete games, including shutout wins against Plant City, Sickles and Alonso, as well as six shutout innings against 2A region finalist Bishop McLaughlin.
