#12 Plant City 3
#11 Durant 2
Plant City’s Drew Cothren made the Raiders only hit of the game count a ground ball through the left side to break a tie game in the sixth and giving Plant City the edge over crosstown rival Durant. The Cougars got on the board first after Tanner Gonser led off the third with a single, scored on a Caleb Lambert triple, and Lambert scored on a Brennan Bailey RBI sac fly. But miscues doomed Durant in the next inning as a walk, an error and a dropped third strike tied up the game. The miscues spoiled a 12-strikeout performance by Cougars righty Tristan Macpherson (6ip, 1 H, 1 earned, 3 BB); while Plant City’s Hunter Carbaugh struck out five, allowing two runs on four hits in five innings, and Keegan Wilkerson pitched two scoreless innings of relief with two K’s and one hit allowed.
