Cambridge Christian’s Nathan Hazard struck out 11 and allowed two hits across 5 1/3 innings of shutout baseball, before Justin Howell struck out three with one hit and four walks to finish off IMG Gold from Skyway Park Tuesday afternoon. The win marked No. 100 in the career of Lancers coach John DiBenedetto. Braiden Price doubled to leadoff the home-second, and Hazard helped out his own cause with an RBI sac fly to put up the deciding run. Robert Moore and Trigg Listerman (2-for-3, RBI) hit back-to-back doubles in the third; Luca Gonzalez doubled in a run in the fourth; and Alex Quintero hit an RBI double in the sixth inning.

Bell Creek ran its win-streak to 11 games, taking early control against IMG Blue as a two-run double by Kyle Beauchamp set the Panthers on the winning path. Beauchamp would add an RBI groundout to his tally in the third, and struck out 10 in his 5 1/3 inning start; William Miller stayed red-hot going 3-for-4; Remy Ramsey called on after IMG put two aboard in the seventh, and struck out one before getting a line out to end the game and earn a save.

Northside Christian’s Donovan Fox held TC to one run on just two singles, and struck out a dozen in a complete-game effort. Ashton Cox walked to lead off the third for the Mustangs, stole second and third and scored on a throwing error, before Brady Jones homered to rightfield. The Yordan Rosendo hit an RBI sac fly the next inning, followed by an RBI single from Cox; and Jameson Moan went deep to left in the fifth inning. Beaux Beauchaine singled for the Crusaders in the sixth and scored on a Jack Smythe single lined to left.

Plant put up a five-spot in the fourth inning on six hits and a walk, including a Will Meade RBI double; Rhett Dixson gave the Panthers the lead for good with a two-run single to right; and Eli Cruz and Logan Cucchi singled in runs to cap the inning. Jordan Olivia hit an RBI sac fly in the sixth to cap the scoring. Joel Salinas scattered three hits and two strikeouts in two scoreless innings, before Coy Keller came on in relief, allowing one run in the third (scoring on a double-play), then held the Wolves to just one hit and struck out five to earn his fifth win of the season. Ocean Cozart doubled for the Wolves in the loss.

Jesuit scored two sixth-inning runs as Brady Marshall (RBI groundout) and Hudson Rivera (RBI single) pushed the Tigers ahead and Ben Burke closed out the win against Ohio’s St. Ignatius. Wilson Andersen doubled and scored in the second inning, and hit an RBI sac fly in the second, before Samir Mohammed (2-for-3) singled in a run to give the Tigers an early lead. Griffin Boesen was 2-for4 with a run scored; and Jay Kirchner was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Kaden Weachter pitched four innings in a no-decision, allowing three runs on two hits and four walks, but did have seven strikeouts.

Plant City’s Keegan Wilkerson struck out seven, allowed one hit and two walks in five shutout innings, before Alex Rodriguez slammed the door with one hit and two strikeouts in the final two innings on the mound. Rodriguez hit an RBI single in the third inning to provide the necessary run, Wilkerson was 2-for-4 with an RBI; and Merrick Smith went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Seffner Christian junior Ryder Stephens struck out eight and allowed one unearned run in five innings as the Crusaders pulled away with an eight-run second inning – lead by Darnell Mills, Christian Villanueva (3-for-4, two runs) and Caleb Pelaez with RBI singles. Uriah Bullock hit an RBI single and wore a bases-loaded hit-by-ptich in the win.

Brooks DeBartolo 5 – five innings

Berkeley Prep freshman Owen Schmitt won his third-straight decision, entering in relief after Brooks DeBartolo plated two first-inning runs. Schmitt struck out two in his three no-hit innings as the Buccaneers scored big in their first two at-bats. Carson Binder hit and RBI sac fly and later a solo home run; Ben O’Brien was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBI and two runs scored; Lucas Farrar went 2-for-2, with a walk three runs and three RBI; and George Cook went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the win. Aiden Brown was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored for Brooks DeBartolo.
