Charlotte strung together four, two-out hits to take a commanding five-run first inning – highlighted by a two-run single to left by Wes Stines (2-for-3, run, 3 RBI) and a two-run double by Caden Speciale (2-for-3, run). Jakob Wagner was 2-for-4, with a double, home run and four RBI for the Tarpons; while Rylan Bradley pitched five innings, allowed one run on one hit and four walks and struck out 11. Dominick Commiso led off the third with a walk, advanced on two wild pitches and scored on an RBI groundout by David Simpkins. Game 2 from Charlotte High is set for an 11 a.m. start.
