A bases clearing double by Kian Knutson, followed immediately by a Matthew Seoane RBI double sparked a big fourth inning as Tampa Catholic topped Tampa Prep in the district quarterfinals. Seoane had three hits in the game, and Tony Watson scored three runs for the Crusaders. Ryan Gonzalez pitched five innings and got the win on the mound. Jack Doney had three hits and scored twice for the Terrapins, and Charlie Vari drove in two.

A single from Cade Kurland and a double by Jakob Hines set up Andrew DiMisa to single in a pair to give Berkeley Prep the fifth-inning advantage in a district win over Brooks DeBartolo. Freshman Gunnett Carlson added a solo home run – the first of his career – to the lead in the sixth as the Buccaneers advanced to the 4A-4 semifinals against Calvary Christian on Wednesday. Jack Dooley weathered four hits, including a three-run home run from Brooks DeBartolo’s Stephaun Haycock in the third, to pickup a complete game win with seven strikeouts for the Bucs.
