For the second time this season, senior Jac Caglianone and the Plant Panthers had district foe Wharton’s number as the University of Florida committed lefty, struck out 10 in six innings on the mound, and also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run. Matthew Ward’s RBI triple in the first put the Panthers on the path to victory, and Reece Soper struck out the side in his one inning of work.

Offensively, Chris Roberts went 3-for-4, driving in a pair, scoring one and stealing a base, Jake Vildostegui was 2-for-4, with a pair of runs scored and an RBI, and Eliecer Martinez drove in a pair in a two-hit game.

Colin Jackson earned his fifth win of the season striking out 11 in 6 2/3 innings, and Ben Vazquez recorded a one-out save with a K. AJ Graham was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, Miguel Pina scored twice, and CJ Hanson was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Dragons senior Carson Moore pitched a complete-game, limiting district opponent Countryside to just one run on two hits to pick up his sixth win of the season. Javier James lead off the third with a single and eventually scored the deciding run, before the Dragons sealed the victory with a five-run fifth keyed by RBI singles by Yadiel Perez and Esaias Vega. In the win James also had a double, stole three bags and scored three times.

Hillsborough junior Salvy Urso had an RBI groundout and an RBI double in the loss.

The decisive inning for Brooks DeBartolo featured a pair of singles from Nick Tomsich (3-for-5), as well as RBI hits from Nathan Endsley and Ryan Martin (3-for-3, three RBI). Austin Stirling had a double and a single, and drove in and scored two runs, and Ethan Corscadden struck out five in a winning effort.
