Senior Caden McDonald‘s county-lead-tying seventh home run got Sickles going at Durant on Tuesday, but it was the Gryphons sending 13 to the plate in the second that pushed the game out of reach. Connor Vance (3-for-4, run, RBI), Luke Fikar (2-or-3, run, RBI) and Cameron Guise (2-for-4, run) led the offense for the Gryphons, and Brandon Gonzales earned his sixth win with four innings pitched and two strikeouts. Durant battled from behind with Noah Morales driving in a run on a sac fly, and another on a single, while Blaine Rowland also had an RBI sac fly, and Dylan LaPointe (2-for-4, double) had an RBI single in the seventh. Preston Rodgers pitched 5 2/3 innings of shutout baseball for the Cougars, striking out seven, allowing six hits and three walks.

Bloomingdale defeated Strawberry Crest behind shutout pitching from Jacob Magadan (W, 6ip, two hits, five K’s, four walks) and Johnny De La Rosa (Sv, 1ip, one K), and a two run home run from Alex Vazquez, scoring Coop Hinson (double). Brayden DiCerb took the loss, striking out four in his four innings, with two runs on two hits, and Alex Philpott pitched three scoreless innings of relief with five strikeouts.

Freshman Talan Miranda held Freedom to one run on seven hits in his five innings on the mound for the Longhorns. Logan Covey‘s two-run single got Lennard’s offense going in the first, and run-scoring singles by Tim Mendizabal and Mikie Locke added some insurance. Freedom’s run came in the fourth when Joey Wey (2-for-4) singled and scored on an RBI hit by Tommy Bradley; and Gio Mendoza had a double for the Patriots.

Hillsborough’s Ryan Arroyo singled in a run in the top of the 10th, and Antonio Davis pitched 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to pickup the win. Aiden Morales, who scored the winning run, was 2-for-5, and Curtis Roberts was 2-for-5, with a double and two RBI for the Terriers. Cameron Mallo was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Jefferson, and had seven strikeouts while taking the loss in relief; and Joseph Fritz had a hit and scored a run.

After trading leads a couple of times, Academy at the Lakes put up a four-run inning to take a lead and battled throughout with visiting Cambridge Christian. Cooper Antalek (double) and Engel Cortes-Ramos (triple) each scored three times, Liam Akins was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jadin Soto and Luke SeveliusDalton Ekel pitched four innings, allowing one earned, and struck out five. Brody Bellomo put up his fourth-straight multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Lancers, and Frankie Taylor was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and three RBI.
